He won a title and got the team to another? That's not good enough considering that they were a laughingstock for the previous 10 years?
We will be a laughing stock for the next 10 if we dont get proactive. He won a title and got the team to another? That's not good enough considering that they were a laughingstock for the previous 10 years?
Rondo isn't good, young talent? The dude is only 26 ffs. You don't just get rid of one of the best pure PGs in the game for a hit-or-miss prospect or draft pick unless he demands a trade. We will be a laughing stock for the next 10 if we dont get proactive.
Pugz brings up a great point about the Dumars/Pistons situation. They suck right now. They were so good for a good long time, but their downfall was not trading the value guys (Rip, Prince, etc) for youthful trade value. They traded for AI as a last-move to win it all. That failed. They fell into complete failure, because they had no pieces of trade value anymore because they weremt winning.
We need to know that due to how good the Thunder, Bulls, & Heat are, we don't have a realistic shot of winning a title. So why keep on trying and having our players lose trade value? Makes no sense
Let's take a trip down memory lane shall we.he made those trades because Pierce said he wanted new players or to be traded himself. He was on the hotseat, and made 2 good trades.
What else has he done thats good?
Kept them together when everyone was saying it was time to break them up for three years now.he made those trades because Pierce said he wanted new players or to be traded himself. He was on the hotseat, and made 2 good trades.

Kendrick Perkins is an awful player, the fact that they don't have to pay him that ridiculous contract the Thunder gave him makes the Celtics the winner of that trade, even without getting anything back. Here's my two cents on trading Rondo.
I'd do it. I really would. He's only as good as his supporting cast, and his supporting cast has gotten visibly worse since the laughable Kendrick Perkins trade. Until he develops a jump shot, he will not be a good point guard on a bad team. Not consistently. He'll have his games, but that's all. He can't work with nothing, and that's obvious as hell. He's incredibly lazy on the court, has extreme character issues (two suspensions for touching officials in a season? Headcase, y'all), and is incredibly useless once every few games.
Trade him while people still think he's great. The Rondo/Westbrook trade would be a steal for both teams. One would get the consistent scorer they need, the other would get a PG who can actually set their shooters like Durant and Harden up for open jumpshots and can move away from consistent iso.
We got Jeff Green out of that trade.Kendrick Perkins is an awful player, the fact that they don't have to pay him that ridiculous contract the Thunder gave him makes the Celtics the winner of that trade, even without getting anything back.
I would get your logic if the Celtics were mediocre and not contending for titles but here they sit in the Eastern Conference Finals...It was time to break them up a while ago simply because their value is dropping every year they get older, not to mention they're all about to be free agents.
My sources tell me Jeff Green is going to sign back with the Celtics once he is re-cleared to play, but I hear the Wizards could also come into play.how much did jeff green help your team?..
that doesnt change the fact i wont ever see him as a full-time starter. hes better suited off the bench for scoring from the 3/4.My sources tell me Jeff Green is going to sign back with the Celtics once he is re-cleared to play, but I hear the Wizards could also come into play.
They're in the ECF but they're not actually legit title contenders, which sounds funny for a team just one series away from making it, but it's the truth. Being stubborn and getting nothing in return for the former Big 3 could cost the Celtics deeply in the future just because they wanted to lose in the ECF a few more years.I would get your logic if the Celtics were mediocre and not contending for titles but here they sit in the Eastern Conference Finals...
Why aren't the Celtics title contenders? They have a 1/4 shot...They're in the ECF but they're not actually legit title contenders, which sounds funny for a team just one series away from making it, but it's the truth.
