There is a lot of Richardson hype. Yes he's a good player, but my personal opinion is that he should be picked in the 12-20 range, and TBH, Martin in the 16-25 range. They are closer than they appear.
Take your theory on Richardson, and apply it to Blackmon.. Then you are correct all-round.

There is nothing to suggest that he won't be able to break long runs in the NFL. Nobody caught him from behind in college and his 40 time was good. You have nothing to base your opinion off.

AP isn't hurt every week. Sure, he has small nagging injuries that he plays through, but every single player in the NFL has those. AP has only had one significant injury in his NFL career and every RB in the NFL would have sustained the same injury on the play that he did.
The fact that when he does get to the outside and eventually gets run out of bounds at about 25 yards, suggests it'll be the same in the NFL. He's not going to be able to get to the edge and out run everyone. I'm basing it off his play.

Also, Peterson hasn't played a whole season in 2 years. And his YPA were best in his first 2 seasons, out of five. You can see the wear and tear in affect already.

I'd still take Blackmon top 5 due to the fact he's going to play for 12 years. He's going to last a while in the NFL, he rarely takes a good hit. He knows how to dive down and avoid hits well.

SMH.

Big hits and getting great YAC on Corners in the Big12 doesn't = the same for the NFL.

ESPN on Big 12 CBs, article dated to 7/14/11

This group? Well, it's not very good. And considering the crazy depth in the Big 12 at receiver, it could be a long season for cornerbacks in this league. I love the upside of many of the Big 12 corners -- namely the guys at Missouri and Texas Tech (especially working with Chad Glasgow's 4-2-5 in Lubbock). Texas could also develop fast in its new defense, but outside of Texas A&M and Oklahoma, I don't see any Big 12 teams that should be completely comfortable with their cornerbacks.

I wasn't saying anything about YAC. I'm just saying Richardson is talent, but he has a short shelf life. Blackmon, may not be elite, but I'd take him top 5 because he'll be playing for 12 years and you'll make your value. If you need a WR Blackmon is the best one, this year. You can't change for someone better so you take him. Even still, he's going to go to Pro Bowls. He's still talented.

Bills want to use their top picks 1st (10th overall) + 2nd round (Early 2nd) and trade up for Matt Kalil.

If he falls to 7, I could see the Jaguars doing that and them taking Stephon Gilmore at 10 if the Panthers don't do it.

He's the best one IN YOUR OPINION. Not in the people that matters opinion.

An NFL executive tells NFL.com's Albert Breer a "number" of teams have Michael Floyd rated ahead of Justin Blackmon.
TheSidelineView.com's Adam Caplan has "heard similar sentiments." This isn't the first time we've heard teams have Floyd rated ahead of Blackmon, but it's notable that the chatter isn't going away. Both wideouts could be taken in the top ten, and Floyd could indeed go first.
Like I said, I like Blackmon, you and Yank just overrate him. He'll be a #2 possession type WR. Not some Multiple pro bowler with 10,000+ Yards when he's done.

You can pick and choose articles and "sources" that agree with anything, but it doesn't validate an opinion.

I know it's my opinion. That's why I like Blackmon. You can't seriously tell me Floyd is better to you. He's even slower than Blackmon, and had the worst stats (YPC, etc) out of all the best WR's in the draft, and he wasn't the only one with bad QB play. Randle had much better stats, with equally bad QB play. I absolutely expect Floyd to bust. He won't be able to seperate, and he's one of the least quick twitch guys I've seen rated this high. Floyd won't be a multi pro bowler.

Blackmon on the other hand, I still see a great route runner, I know you don't think so, but I do. And with that he'll be able to get his separation and do what he does. I know the draft is a crapshoot, but this is my opinion.

For the record, I think Randle and Criner are going to be as good as Blackmon, and much better than Floyd. Don't count out Criner. He's crazy talented. He's just a case of no hype. Another good route runner.

I love Criner, and Randle.. Its just a very makeshift class to me.. No "sure thing"

My favorite receivers in this class are Randle, Sanu, Criner, and Broyles

I think Blackmon is the safest one in terms of absolutely not busting out and being Ted Ginn, with no production. Even if he doesn't live up to his potential, he'll still be good, but TBH, if I was drafting, I'd wait til the late 2nd or 3rd to take Criner. I can see him being as much a boom as Blackmon, but he's got more of a chance to do nothing. I'd compare them, and given value take Criner later.

Hill and Randle are comparable to the fact they were both verticle WR's with limited chance to show their stuff. I personally would go Randle, but I could see the argument for Hill.

Another guy I'd pass on is Wright. He'll be in the slot in the NFL, and if that's the case, I'd take Devon Wylie later too. Man can he run. So elusive. Plus he is a fantastic returner.

I agree that this WR class is a mess. Real deep, and a lot of these guys who aren't being talked about who could boom.

He's a 5th rounder to me. You can find a lot of slow guys with good hands. You are right though. Very un explosive.

EDIT

And I want to clear this up too: being slow DOES NOT mean you are not explosive.

It's interesting that Mayock said in his mock there are 6 blue chip players, and implied Blackmon is one.

Jacksonville is in a tough position -- the perception is that there are six blue-chip players out there. The Jaguars sit at No. 7.

He had Luck, Griffin, Kalil, Blackmon, Richardson and Claiborne gone at that point.

I dont think they'll all be gone at that point though. He had Kalil going 3rd & "Bob Sansevere of the St. Paul Pioneer Press "would be surprised" if the Vikings selected USC OT Matt Kalil on Thursday.
Based on Vikings GM Rick Spielman's comments to both the media and to him personally, Sansevere feels the pick will be LSU CB Morris Claiborne. Sansevere believes Spielman was "blowing spoke" when he mentioned the team's need for an elite left tackle, and that the Vikings are content being average at the position. At this point, Claiborne is the favorite to come off the board at No. 3. "

So I think Mayock is wrong there.. One of the top 5 players will slip to Jacksonville at 7.
