Nobody's going to give Lopez a huge deal, especially since he hasn't been able to stay healthy this season.
It only takes one team.

Eric Gordon has had health issues and he will likely get the max this offseason.

Such a difference in perception between the two

Eric Gordon is viewed as someone with elite potential, Brook is looked at as a pussy

Meh, I'm just saying. If Milicic and Gooden can get 5 and 6 a year Lopez will get much more than that.

no, brook hasn't gotten much better and can't stay healthy. he's also going to be less of a player with dwight. he's not going to get more than $10m.

8-10M is probably what he will get, but still 10M is a lot.

I'm just saying.

DWill gets the max.
DWight gets the max.
Lopez will get a big contract.
Brooks will get a big contract in a few years.
Humphries will get a solid contract.

They won't be keeping all those guys, and they won't be able to contend with the Miami's and Chicago's of the East. Not to mention they have just 3 or 4 players under contract for next year.

bbrooks won't need a new contract for three more seasons and they got a lottery pick to add. you just hate the thought of a team getting better by having multiple stars but that team won't he bad..

:duhfuck:

My point is completely going over your head. I'm not saying they won't win, because they will. But they won't win a title. They will never get the top seed in the East, becauseeeeee teams like the Heat and Bulls will still be better.

You honestly don't believe that the Nets would be better than the Heat or Bulls with Dwight next season, do you?

I guess I could possibly see that, though Chicago's bench > Jersey's bench. All depends if Chicago can get the production from the two guard they need.

It could all be a moot point though. Deron/Marshon/???/???/Dwight. Who knows who their SF and PF would be.

Lopez would be nice next to Dwight since Lopez can't rebound anyways.

Then you enter the problem of having a guy playing next to the top scoring C in the league who really doesn't impact the game aside from scoring. He also has health scares. He also can't come out of the post to play D, so do you want to take Dwight out from under the basket? I wouldn't. Then you likely have an excellent shot blocker and rebounder out of position, leaving a weak defender and poor rebounder protecting the paint.

Not to mention you have a guy like Brooks on the wing who isn't very concerned with defense, and even though DWill is considered a good defender that could be left up for debate. So having poor perimeter defenders and a poor paint defender, while your best defender is getting pulled out from under the basket by 4's that can stretch the floor? Terrible combination.

Personally, I'd save the money and spend it better.

Kind of said it half jokingly lol. But I really don't think the Nets would just let Lopez walk. S&T for some help at the 3 or 4 seems likely in this scenario.

One source close to the situation told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that the Magic have promised Howard that they will add a quality player before Thursday's deadline and that Howard can decide the fate of both GM Otis Smith and coach Stan Van Gundy at the end of the season if he signs an extension. Bucks swingman Stephen Jackson, frustrated in Milwaukee, is available and sources say he and Howard have talked about playing together.

All indications are that Magic team president Alex Martins, not Smith, is presiding over attempts to keep Howard in Orlando.

Dwight Howard having the ability to fire Otis Smith should be an added bonus for the franchise as a whole. Not sure why he still has a job.

Never gonna happen, but......

What would happen to the league if Dwight Howard went to the Heat?
