Why would Sanchez restructure? So the Jets can go sign Peyton?
Sources tell CBS' Clark Judge there is "virtually no chance" free agent Mario Manningham re-signs with the Giants, and that he is "expected" to sign with the Bucs.
Profootballtalk.com reported on Friday Manningham was set to hit the open market, but this is the first we've heard of the Bucs as a potential destination. Manningham is said to prefer warm-weather cities, and would be reuniting with former Giants QBs coach Mike Sullivan in Tampa, who was recently named the Bucs' offensive coordinator. Tampa is also awash in cap space and in dire need of upgrading its receiver corps. On paper, it's a very logical landing place for Manningham.
RumorWhy do you say that?
He played his college ball in Michigan..
But who doesn't prefer warm-weather cities?Manningham is said to prefer warm-weather cities, and would be reuniting with former Giants QBs coach Mike Sullivan in Tampa
:toolman:The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker D'Qwell Jackson to a multiyear contract extension, the team announced Monday.
The Browns didn't disclose financial terms but a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Jackson agreed to a five-year, $42.5 million deal that includes $19 million in guaranteed money and roster bonuses.
What would Saints fans do if Drew Brees left lol?Wish the Saints would sign someone.
The NFL’s tampering policy is fairly strict on paper, but during the annual scouting combine, it’s rarely enforced, as teams routinely speak with agents of impending free agents.
That could change, after the Chiefs committed what appears to be multiple violations last week, in discussing the possibility of adding Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.
Asked about Manning, Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said he would be “crazy not to consider it” if the future Hall of Fame quarterback did become available.
Crennel tried to balance that comment out by saying Manning was still under contract and he didn’t want to discuss any other team’s players, but the league specifically prohibits comments such as Crennel’s, and could potentially dock the Chiefs a draft pick and/or fine them as a result.
Crennel’s comments came shortly after a report surfaced that the Chiefs have already spoken with Manning’s agent on two different occasions.
The Chiefs were successful in a similar tampering claim last year against Detroit, receiving a swap of fifth round draft picks from the Lions as a result of comments regarding safety Jarrad Page, who was under contract with Kansas City at the time.-
Why would you want Vince Young? Dude is horrible. Kyle Orton is alright, but isn't anything special and Flynn ehhh I'd rather trade up for RGIII.Hoping more and more each day that the Browns either sign Matt Flynn,Vince Young, or Kyle Orton.
