Ravens are birds, not horses...No lol, I was talking about the Ravens...

So noooooow you admit he's decent. I don't want a decent QB on my team. I'd rather let the young guy learn, so I can have an elite QB in a few years. Playing Hasselbeck didn't do anything, other than costs us the playoffs after the Indy game. That's all he did.McGee played one game! If he put up the stats that he did over a 16 game season, that'd be decent. Just like Hasselbeck is decent.
I hear that Witten guy is pretty good, too..Romo has Bryant, Austin and Robinson, and Eli has Nicks, Cruz and Manningham. Both WR corps are better than the Lions. Nice try. And didn't Stephen McGee just go in for Romo not too long ago and look good? Yep.
My vendetta against you is you go around here, making horribly inaccurate statements about teams other members are fans, on purpose, to piss them off. Especially because we've probably seen every snap of our team, while you just watch the highlights. You have no clue about the game of football. And dude, don't pull this QBR shit. There's a reason it isn't used by the NFL. The fucking corporation that invented it is as knowledgable about football as you. They employ fucking Skip Bayless, and Mel Kiper. They're a joke.
IDK care if I get a warning or whatever for this either, because he's not the only member like this, and they need to be put in their place. All I want is intelligent football conversation, but apparently that's hard to come by these days.
I just meant I have a team in the playoffs. A horse in the race.... it's a common expression...Ravens are birds, not horses...
As I told my friend considering the circumstances, McGee played a GOOD game. Coming in unexpected and not turning the ball over is solid. But the fact is he couldn't produce scoring drives (sans the TD on the last play of the game). So noooooow you admit he's decent. I don't want a decent QB on my team. Do you not comprehend the fact Stafford did something that only Brees, Marino, and Brady have done in their careers?I just don't get what the big deal about Stafford is, and I'm not gonna get into a huge arguement over it because I'm tired as fuck but I really don't. Early in Tony Romo's career, Romo had T.O. and put up great stats, and people used the fact that he had T.O./Witten against him. And then it also became "well he's never won anything". Now Stafford puts up great stats thanks in large part to an elite WR, and he hasn't won anything, but I'm supposed to treat this guy like he's an elite QB?
Listen, I'll keep it simple. To me, there's three classes of "the good QBs in the league"
1) Is the Top-Tier. The Super Bowl winners.
Tom, Peyton, Aaron, Drew, Ben, Eli
2) The great stats but haven't won anything.
Romo, Rivers, Schaub, Ryan, Vick
3) The guys who you want to love but haven't shown you enough
Flacco, Stafford, Cutler (tempted to put Cam in hear as well)
And if that explanation doesn't do it for you, I'm sorry. In summary: Statistically Stafford had a better year than Romo and Eli. But I personally believe Eli and Romo mean more to their teams than Stafford does, and so I believe they both deserve to be in the Pro Bowl over Stafford. I know there's members on this board who agree with me too (like elcheato)
Rip knows I'm a Ravens fan I thought he'd understand..."(if you catch my drift on the horse analogy)"
I know the expression, but when you put what you did in parenthesis after what you said, I thought you were insinuating that the "horse" you were talking about was a Bronco.I just meant I have a team in the playoffs. A horse in the race.... it's a common expression...
He played great until Britt got hurt, and then the game after that. After that, he was average at best. Like I said, there was that stretch for 4 weeks with 1 TD and 4 INTs. Doesn't matter if he got pulled, or was hurt, that horrible play, and that is when I got sick and tired of him.As I told my friend considering the circumstances, McGee played a GOOD game. Coming in unexpected and not turning the ball over is solid. But the fact is he couldn't produce scoring drives (sans the TD on the last play of the game).
And I get what you're saying but for you to act like Hasselbeck sucked all year is clearly unwarranted.
Marino did the whole 5000 yard thing at 23 too and he wouldn't make it into that top tierDo you not comprehend the fact Stafford did something that only Brees, Marino, and Brady have done in their careers?
I never said Stafford was a top tier QB. But in his first full season he led the team to the playoffs. To take away what Stafford has done because we have Johnson is a fucking load of shit.
Without any doubt in my mind, Stafford is going to be in that top tier very soon. He is 23 years old, and threw for 5000+ yards. He led the team to the playoffs. The Lions have zero running game, the defenses gameplan to stop the pass and only stop the pass, yet Stafford still had the incredible season he put together. Stafford wins games, and will continue to win games. He is still learning and still improving.
Marino was a Hall of Famer?Marino did the whole 5000 yard thing at 23 too and he wouldn't make it into that top tier
Didn't win a ring so therefore he wouldn't have been in CC's top tierMarino was a Hall of Famer?
I also forgot to mention that if you looked at the Lions schedule (this was something a friend pointed out to me today), the Lions only faced 2 top 10 passing defenses all year (KC, SD), the average of all the teams' pass defenses they faced was 23, and they got to face the 28th, 29th, and 31st ranked pass defense twice. Take it for what it's worth I guess, probably not much to you.Do you not comprehend the fact Stafford did something that only Brees, Marino, and Brady have done in their careers?

I mean if you want to compare all-time QBs it's a different rating system. I don't have Marino top 4 though if that's what you wanted to hear.Didn't win a ring so therefore he wouldn't have been in CC's top tier
My tier is certainly not the same is his lol.Didn't win a ring so therefore he wouldn't have been in CC's top tier
Lol just keep taking away all the credit for the season he had.I also forgot to mention that if you looked at the Lions schedule (this was something a friend pointed out to me today), the Lions only faced 2 top 10 passing defenses all year (KC, SD), the average of all the teams' pass defenses they faced was 23, and they got to face the 28th, 29th, and 31st ranked pass defense twice. Well I would give it to Eli over both of them based on the fact that Eli outdueled Romo twice for the division.Lol just keep taking away all the credit for the season he had.
And Romo did what this year to deserve the Pro-Bowl? lol.
That's a bad argument because the Cowboys defense is much better than the Lions. If you take a 3rd string QB and insert them as a starter for both squads, the Cowboys would be a better team. Cowboys also have a better rushing attack.Well I would give it to Eli over both of them based on the fact that Eli outdueled Romo twice for the division.
But I would say Romo deserved it because of what he did with how little he had. Miles Austin was hurt all season long, his offensive line was terrible, his defense was sketchy at best, he only had a running game for half the season, etc. Like I said, statistically, Stafford had a better season than Romo (although QB Rating DOES favor Romo). But I believe that if you took Stafford off the Lions and took Romo off the Cowboys, the Cowboys would be affected far worse than the Lions would, and that is my opinion.
Dallas has a better rush defense but Detroit has had a better pass defense. If the Cowboys had a pass defense at all they'd easily be in the playoffs right now. And I disagree with you about which team would be better, but like I said, this is all my opionion/speculation. You have the right to disagree and I knew you would. That's a bad argument because the Cowboys defense is much better than the Lions. If you take a 3rd string QB and insert them as a starter for both squads, the Cowboys would be a better team. Cowboys also have a better rushing attack.
The Lions made the playoffs basically on Stafford's back.
