This isn't an FBB sim league where you just cut someone because you're allowed to. In Boozer's first year with the Bulls, they had the best record in the league. They won't cut him.

Bulls aren't cutting Boozer.

They've needed a low post scorer for 10 years...

They finally get Boozer and now everybody thinks they should cut him.

Well he's going to get hurt again like usual, but anyway it's an irrelevant argument because there is no way Jerry Reinsdorf would pay that kind of money to a guy not on his team.

can you waive the player and then sign him back? either way, i dont think chicago will cut boozer unless they know for a fact nene will sign at a cheaper rate so they can try to bring in a two guard. i just dont see it happening.

You can use it on anyone at any time currently under contract on your team through the duration of the CBA.

I doubt it.

Otherwise teams could just sign a player to a large contract to get them to sign for year 1 and then release them the next year.

It is yearly. But only for contracts that were on the books prior to the inception of the new CBA.

•Each team permitted to waive 1 player prior to any season of the CBA(only for contracts in place at the inception of the CBA) and have 100% of the player's salary removed from team salary for Cap and Tax purposes.
For example, Detroit could waive Gordon this off-season, and then Villanueva next. Which would be ideal, cause then them 2 plus Rip and Maxiell will be off the book all at the same time lol.

Another tidbit:

•A modified waiver process will be utilized for players waived pursuant to the Amnesty rule, under which teams with Room under the Cap can submit competing offers to assume some but not all of the player's remaining contract. If a player's contract is claimed in this manner, the remaining portion of the player's salary will continue to be paid by the team that waived him.
IMO, we waive Gordon and the Bulls pick up a bit of his contract for us ;)

The Bulls shouldn't even waste their time with McGrady, not to mention, there is no way you can depend on him to play starter minutes and play a whole season.

no i heard TMac to the Bulls is a done deal
bg would be the better fit. hes younger and you know they can count on him full-season.

i really hope its BG we waive. i wanted him to sign with us but he hasnt showed me enough for him to be on the team long term. and the plan like rip mentioned would be great for us, i just for whatever reason can not seeing it play out like that as long as dumars is in charge. he probably already had a rough outlook of how hed build this team after the cba was signed and now we get to see his "genius" work happen. its not going to be pretty for detroit fans, imo. LOL
