I'm aware where he was born and at how old he moved.

He's not a New Yorker, he didn't grow up here. Living here until your 8 don't mean shit.

there's no place like home. he's from New York, that's where he was born. He calls himself a New Yorker. #Factsssss. He does have those stupid B-More and WB (West Baltimore) tattoos tho :( but that's besides the point. He's as much a New Yorker as he is Baltimore (whatever they call themselves)

Melo considers himself a New Yorker. He said that in a interview after the trade.

What exactly did Stern say in his interview? I missed it.

I consider myself a Cali kid.

Can I be the hometown hero when I go on to play for the Lakers?

he can consider NY his home but it really isnt. any real new yorker should call him out on that.

Depends... are you actually from Cali? lmao. I rep The Bronx (where I was born) even though most of my life has been in Brooklyn.

We accept him here in NY. It's not like at the age of 8 he was like "I wanna leave New York. I wanna go live in Baltimore." He didn't have a say in it... he was 8 for pete sake.

Who gives a shit. Who are you to say Melo isn't a New Yorker when Melo himself says he is?

If I moved to Florida from Louisiana when I was eight years old I would sure as hell consider myself a "Louisianian."

im just saying here in michigan when people arent from detroit and dont even live close, we dont like you saying "im from detroit". im not from detroit, however, i only live five minutes from the worst part of detroit.

With New York its different for some weird reason. If youre not from the 5 boroughs, youre not from NY. Upstate NY isnt NY, and even some of my friends say Im not a New Yorker cuz I live in Long Island. And I only live like 45 mins from the city.

Its like being from NY is an exclusive club or something, lol.

From bottom to top obviously:

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
Done. I'm handing it in. Good night all. RT @bradley08: Here's the book. Owners: Bleep you. Players: Bleep us? Bleep you. Fans: Bleep this.

Indefensible. Stern + Hunter need to resign. RT @NickLaney: Beyond comprehension why it took until October for semi serious talks to happen.

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
In my opinion, yes. There will be books written about how badly everyone handled this. RT @mutto: worst negotiation in pro sports history?

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
They should both resign. Tomorrow. Lost control of this months ago. RT @WRMC_BattyBeach Who's more likely to keep his job, Stern or Hunter?

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
Nope. RT @TGOD2323: Worst part - both sides have failed to mention the passion of the fans. They don't care about our feelings at all.

BTW owners aren't blameless. Their "ultimatum" backfired, they bullied players into jumping off a cliff. Everyone disgraced themselves here.

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
It's called missing a year of paychecks to take a worse deal in 2012. RT @tgip22: It's called taking a stand, that is their leverage.

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
How 'bout countering the last owners proposal? Gee, there is an idea. RT @M_Deiters12: What more would you have the players do exactly?

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
Players had no leverage. They never accepted it. Poor leadership. RT @M_Deiters12: Owners didnt make a single concession, players made tons.

sportsguy33Bill Simmons
Neither, there is no side. Owners wanted to blow it up, players gave 'em gas + matches. RT @AminAjani: Whose side r u on players or owners?

Just played 2 hrs of hoops. So much fun. It's a shame NBAPA + owners don't appreciate the sport. Good riddance, enjoy your "nuclear winter."

Bill Simmons can go "bleep" himself. I'd be happy to make that happen
