Mexi, off-topic, but I'm gonna bring this up forever cause I don't think I've said it in a while. Remember when you said the Clips-Cavs trade was better for the Clippers because they cut salary and could pick up an FA?

I think Stern and Hunter should be gone...

both sides really messed up big time on this one. No end in sight either.

It will be interesting to see what the judge thinks.

I almost think fans should start boycotting whenever the NBA does come back...

I was listening to one of those legal guys on the radio today and he basically said this is still both sides just kind of playing around with each other. He said neither side will keep the dice rolling all that long because it is far to risky for both sides, and he would be surprised if we don't have a regular season.

it's just hard to feel sorry for these guys

even if the deal is a bad one for the players in their eyes, the reality is they will still be making a good living

what is the minimum salary? $750K?
thats plenty

i think it's stupid that the players are crying that they are the victims. im sorry, but they will get paid whether they see it as a bad deal or a good one

really stupid thing for tyrus to say. im disappointed

I'd be bitching too if we were making 57% and cut down to 50%, still without a deal.

And thats only the start. Dropping to 50% or even lower just gives the owners more flexibility to lower the players' share of the revenue the next time the CBA is negotiated.

And at the same time the Owners are bitching they need more revenue to cover their losses. Jordan said it years ago as a player, if you can't afford it, sell it. It's that simple.

In the end, this is just a big problem that stems from the Players originally having too good of a deal, and now it's turned into chaos.

I saw earlier on ESPN that the average player lost 220K from his first paycheck yesterday.

I find it hilarious they're complaining about player movement being restricted in this CBA. Because it really matters where you make your 5 million per..

The second tweet you posted is 100% true.

First tweet was dumb.

At the end of the day, the owners and the players are equally at fault here. The owners saying that they deals are only going to get worse from here just shows that they're less committed to having a season than the players are.

If they really wanted a season, they would keep working at it instead of giving these stupid ultimatums that the players clearly didn't fall for.

the amount they lose in a season is much less than the 1% they're fighting for during the duration of the CBA.

I just think it is annoying these players are complaining about making less when they are getting paid to do the thing they love in life. And it's not like they still aren't making 5x more than the average person. If they can't support their families with a NBA minimum contract (which not that many players would even have) then they are budgeting their money very poorly.

Go get a real degree and a real job and then try to complain about making less to play BASKETBALL.

Yeah, thats why I think this is so stupid. Like everyone else has said, the players regardless of their deal, will make plenty to live a lavish life.

I think it's more than just the money. Last week the Players agreed to take a 50/50 split depending on what the other areas of the CBA offer gave them. The Owners STILL didn't budge on anything else. I feel like the Owners don't even negotiate. They just consistently say 'this is what we want, screw you'.

Well the owners were trying to bully the players into taking their 50-50 deal...which was a dumb move. Both sides are lead by idiots, that much is clear.

The owners did budge on some system issues, like increasing the MLE to the highest its ever been and other little things, but they didn't come far enough.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens next...players seem bent on decertifying and file anti-trust claims against the NBA, which if the NBA is smart, they can shoot all those down pretty easy I feel.

I mean the Union were just as much to blame about not playing basketball right now up until they decertified or disbanded recently.

true. Here's the full antitrust-lawsuit they filed: http://sheridanhoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/C-Anthony-v-NBA-Class-Action-Complaint.pdf

Seems like a lot of "he said-she said".
