It seems like a good idea when you first think of it, but there are drastic cases like the Cavs who were really good for 4 years, and abysmal for 1. Then teams like the Thunder who were bad for years and finally got good, Memphis as well..

Going with the same order as last year isn't fair, nor is the 5 year thing.

It's probably out of the realm of possibility, but they could have GMs rank teams 1-29 based on how the teams look (excluding their team), and average out the polls and make the order that way.

That wouldn't really be fair either IMO. We've seen time and time again that how teams look on paper is pretty irrelevant.

I know it might mess with a couple teams, but going off the record from the last 2-3 years I think is fair.
5 years is too long of a time-frame.

I think just going off last year is the most fair thing to do, realistically.. This past draft wasn't that good, so it's probably not going to help many teams anyway, so you might as well just re-do the lotto with the same odds.

I don't think there is a huge difference from getting top 3 and top 10 in this up coming class, baring the NBA from putting the 20 year old age restriction on. Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond are elite prospects at 1 and 2, but the lotto is gonna be filled with potential all-stars.

I know, but still. If we aren't going to get Davis or Drummond, I want it to be because we played ourselves out of those picks, not because we had a better roster last year and won what would probably be more games than this year.
Just isn't fair either, to shitty teams like Detroit lol. This upcoming draft could be huge for us.
