He's no longer on the Bengals, you don't have to blindly defend him anyway.

They don't have a lot of good pieces, they have a bunch of scrub WRs, a shitty OL, and a great, but inconsistent RB.
I'm just saying, if he plays well with the Raiders, then everyone will look at this differently. If he takes them to the playoffs and wins some games, it will be a good trade for them. I know what Palmer is capable of, he hasn't been himself the last several years, whether that be the combination of injuries and all the distractions, I don't know. I just seen games last year that looked like the Palmer of old, when the line was blocking, when the WR's were running the right routes, when the play calling wasn't so predictable, he looked nearly unstoppable against the Chargers. I know that's just one game, but he played good in more than one. I just think a change of scenery will do him good, I know he's not a bad QB. All I'm saying is, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he went to Oakland and came alive. The Raiders have a good team, I'm sure he will love playing in California.

2 2nd round picks for Palmer wouldve been more suitable, not 2 1st round picks. Holy crap that is way too much.

I'd lol hard at the Raiders if Carson won't play for them. I'm assuming that they got the OK from him before making it through.

Bengals have 9 picks in first two rounds of the next two drafts. If they don't turn it around after those two drafts they never will.

Rest in Peace Al Davis, but the Raiders looked better when you were around.

I don't think even you would have made that deal, good lord.

I wouldn't give up one second for Palmer let alone 2. This isn't Carson of 05 or 06..This is a 32 year old qb who is declining by the season. A 4-5th rounder would've been the most I would've did for this version of Palmer.

He would have never went for a 4th or 5th rounder, no way.

Quarterback is the most valuable position in the NFL.. He's worth a 3rd, and a 2nd could be justified, but this is too much.

This is what I dont get

in April 2010, the Redskins traded Jason Campbell for a 2012 4th rounder.

Campbells 09 stats: 3,618 yd, 20-15 TD/INT, 86.4 QB Rating
Palmers 2010 stats: 3,970 yd, 26-20 TD/INT, 82.4 QB Rating

someone please tell me how Palmers stats are worth a 1st and a 1st/2nd, and not the 4th for Campbell? Plus, Campbell was better than Carson in 2009 and 2010.

Jason is a better QB, and is once again going to lose his starting spot. Sucks, I thought the dude wasn't too bad, but he can never get a chance to play and start permanently

Lose his starting job? He got hurt, and even Hue Jackson said they wouldn't have made this trade if the injury didn't happen.

Im saying for next year, when they both are under contract. From what I would presume, they wouldnt trade all those picks for a backup QB
