I'm not pointing out the entire series, I'm pointing out his performance in the playoffs and mainly this series. There is no way you can say his fielding has been among the best this post season. He has dropped a routine pop fly, dropped an easy line drive, and made other fielding mistakes this series (eg. missed a rolling ball and had no play at home). Then his performance at the plate speaks for itself.
Avila is a brilliant catcher. No one has ever called him a great hitter and hence why he's always at the bottom of the line up. He is essential to this defense and there isn't a substitute on our bench that is better than Avila defensively. Austin Jackson on the other hand isn't playing well on both sides of the ball. We have a perfectly good outfielder and hitter in Don Kelly on the bench. I don't care that he may not be as fast as Jackson but he is still pretty fast and his BA and OBP, I would bet, would be noticeably better than Jackson's.

I just don't see the point to sign a Reyes when you already have a good thing going at shortstop. Don't mess with Peralta, cause when his head is on straight, hes among the best at shortstop offensively. Going after a true 3rd baseman would be better.
i was just thinking in terms of a leadoff guy

they need that as much as any team in baseball

Also need another quality starting pitcher, not Brad Penny-esque.
So SP, 3B, 2B.

Inge is my favorite player, they better not replace him. He's one hell of a third baseman.

Joe Buck and Tim McCarver can really get your juices flowing, exciting commentators.

For the same reason he throws Schlereth in a bases loaded 1 out situation.
