So you are telling me that you seen this coming with Rodgers? I don't believe it. If you read my last post, I think that would clear up what the first part of your post just said. I'm NOT saying just because he went first overall in the draft, he's going to be a great NFL QB. I just think he has the talent and just has to go out and prove it now. You just never know what is going to happen. I'm NOT saying Staffword should be mentioned with Rodgers just because he was first overall and Rodgers was like 24th in the first round, that is NOT what I am saying.
When did I say I saw it coming? I always thought Aaron Rodgers would be a pretty good QB, obviously not as good as he is already, but it's a ridiculous comparison in the first place.. It's just completely random. The situations aren't even close to the same and the skill sets aren't the same. It's basically saying, this guy over here succeeded, so this guy can as well..

Rodgers entered that Draft as the #1 prospect

Alex Smith rose towards Draft Day, and the Niners picked Smith. Rodgers fell for some reason, and it definitely helped sitting behind Favre for 3 years. But Rodgers always had talent

Rodgers at Cal was far better than Stafford at Georgia
Rodgers two years starting:

Talented junior passer made fast progress over his short starting career and has as much upside as any QB in recent memory. Though he played in a QB friendly system, his production and big game performance is undeniable. He is remarkably similar to Joe Montana in many ways, especially his footwork, accuracy and his ability to take an entire unit’s performance up a level. At the combine, he ran a 4.71 time, had a 34′ 5″ vertical leap and 9′ 2″ broad jump, but did not throw. He has definite NFL starting ability and could become an elite QB within a short time in the right setting. He needs to learn to pick up more sophisticated defensive coverage and how to respond to it. As a collegian, he learned to take what defenses gave him, something few young passers grasped until much later in their career. He is a good athlete with the live arm and intangibles including poise and leadership to become a top flight NFL starter. As a rookie, he may not be ready to start and probably needs some time to learn a system in addition to working with a good supporting cast.

I never compared Stafford to Rodgers to begin with, someone else brought that up. I just don't think it's fair for people to call Stafford a scrub because he hasn't done anything yet, because of injuries. I can see why a lot of people are doubting him, for that reason and probably the negativity that seems to surround the Lions, so I'm not saying that I question people who are doubting him. I haven't compared him to nobody, Stafford's play will do the talking. Mark my words though. If the man stays healthy and the offensive line doesn't expose him, he'll be a top 10 NFL QB.

The only person here who called Stafford a scrub is bosox. And he really didn't even say it directly, just said the Lions need a better QB to have a 'decade rivalry'. He's injury prone, and it seems like every time he takes a hit he stays down. That's why people doubt him.

Stafford added considerable muscle to his upper body, I don't see the injuries being a problem anymore. At least in his shoulders.

i never called him a scrub, kam is the one who does that.

I said the Lions are going to need a much better QB if they want to get to the Colts status. The Colts are good because they have Peyton freaking god Manning. Dude has broken so many passing records in his career, and I just dont see Stafford coming near to that

I just said I can see why people doubt him. But, just because he's injury prone the past 1-2 years doesn't mean that can't change. If he manages to stay healthy, which I believe he can, the Lions may not need a better QB. I know people will say that's hard to believe when he hasn't shown it, yet but I think he will this year. Like I said, he will need to prove it, and I think he will.

What a stupid article. Picking two teams out of your ass and claiming they'll be the next big rivalry is stupid and lacks any basis whatsoever.

Why not Arizona & Carolina? Or the Texans & Dolphins? Or Toronto Bills & Los Angeles Chargers?

I would go with the Packers and Falcons if anything, both teams with great young QB's who are smart and arent injury prone. Now thats a more sensible selection for a great rivalry.

this cannot be a serious article.

First off, Green Bay with young Aaron Rodgers will dominate the NFC for at about 10 more years. I could see Green Bay and Tampa, if the Bucs make HUGE strides, but not the Lions. They need a QB much better than Stafford to have a rivalry like the Patriots and Colts.
As much as I hate the Lions. I'll say that a healthy Stafford is the best young quarterback in the NFL. Yes, I would take a healthy Stafford over Freeman.

How is that a rivalry? The Packers demolished Atlanta in the playoffs. Just dismantled their shit like it was a fucking pee-wee team.

People really underestimate Stafford, especially if he can stay healthy...

Jahvid Best is also a bastard when healthy. I know when he was at Cal he was always diving head first into the endzone even when his team was losing or it was a meaningless game. You can tell he truly loves playing. And MegaTron is the second best WR in all of football. If Detroit can just not suck total cock on defense they'll be set. Yes, I still think Suh is the most overrated DT in the NFL. If anyone can sit here and say that his success isn't all attributed to KVB and Avril they're full of shit.
