A source with knowledge of the situation tells the Philadelphia Sports Daily that the Redskins will not release Albert Haynesworth quickly after the lockout.
"They are not going to cut him," the source said. "If the Eagles or anyone else wants him it is going to have to be by trade. Because if they cut him, that’s giving him his way." It's no secret that the division rival Eagles would pounce all over Haynesworth if he became a free agent. Washington may end up holding onto Haynesworth for all of August if its trade demands aren't met.

It's pretty interesting that this source thinks the Eagles would absolutely pounce on him. I can't imagine a team not being a little cautious if Fat Albert did become a FA.

He'd have his way if they released him, so they won't release him? Sounds childish.

Maybe they're still hung up on the fact that they paid him all this cash. I think eventually both sides need to move ahead from this deal though. That being said, if I am a team in the NFL I wouldn't even waste my time on this guy. He's got such a bad attitude and he has done nothing to help the Redskins but only has shown the ability to be lazy.

Lol yeah they really don't want to waste him because of all that money but honestly I think this is a stalemate because they just don't want him to win and get freedom from their organization haha.
