The guy did help the Panthers get a few wins in 2009, but he struggled and lost the starting job to Clausen. I can't see anybody really bringing him in to compete.The Sporting News' Russ Lande believes free agent Matt Moore is "perhaps the most intriguing QB available this offseason."
"I believe he has talent to become a very good starting QB in the NFL," Lande added on Twitter. "I was so impressed that I am even more shocked that they would use the #1 pick on Cam Newton." The bulk of Lande's film watching was apparently from 2009 as opposed to 2010. A former scout, Lande has a reputation as a bit of maverick, and he's certainly on his own here. We've grown skeptical of his QB analysis after recent claims that Matt Hasselbeck is still a "high-end QB" and that Carson Palmer boasts a "very strong arm."
