1, if they kept Baron they would have won more games, lowered their chances at #1 even more. then they would be stuck with the #11 pick and Baron. ugh
2, keeping baron would have made it difficult to keep DeAndre, especially with Kaman still on payroll

IMO, the Clippers are borderline playoffs next year(i have them in). there's a chance they make the playoffs and then get a top 3-5 pick (from Minnesota of all teams. i think we all agree their chances at a high draft pick will be great). not a bad trade man. you're overreacting because it was #1.
again, they dont absolutely need Kyrie and Derrick Williams would have been a great add, but they still have Aminu and will add a SF this offseason

I think the Clippers can make the playoffs next year...Blake is gonna be better, Bledsoe, MoWill will have gotten used to it, Jordan will be better, Aminu will be healthy and should improve, plus whoever they draft/sign. Eric Gordon is real good.

And even if it didn't end up at #1, it is still a no brainer deal for the Cavs. Even in a bad draft, having 2 lottery picks is nice for a rebuilding team, and the cap situation is irrelevant for us, because we aren't going to lure any big stars through free agency. No, don't get me wrong; it's a good deal for the Cavs in the long run-- but for Dan Gilbert to spend that amount of money on Davis' contract and then draft a player that plays the same position? Let's just say he definitely has a large pocket.

And, personally, I think the more logical decision would have been/ would be to trade Antawn Jamison's expiring contract next year for picks or talent, as it will be as valuable as ever with the 2012 FA class. They could very well find a few pieces by trading him that may ensure them at least a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference going forward at an even faster rate than what they did with the move this year at a lesser cost.

They have a nice core, but I want to see what they do bench wise this offseason. Chris Kaman will be a nice trade piece next year as well (expiring) and could get them that complementary scorer that they need aside Gordon.

If Mo ever catches on, he could be that scorer. I honestly don't want them to trade Kaman. Him and Jordan and Blake is a nasty group. Plus depth is good. Kaman has to stay healthy though.

The money doesn't matter a whole lot. Dan Gilbert has really deep pockets, and has always been willing to go into the luxury tax.

We can still trade Jamison's contract for picks and/or talent. The trade for Baron Davis and the Clipps pick didn't stop us from making moves in the future. We still have a 14.5 million dollar trade exception to work with as well.. It was just too good of a deal for us to pass up, all the Cavs needed was the owner's approval of adding to the salary situation and luxury tax. Getting an unprotected lottery pick while giving away no assets? Have to do it, and it paid off.

I think they have to let him go simply because he doesn't fit in within the play style they're trying to establish. Maybe they deal him to a team in exchange for draft picks and a heavy contract ala the Cavs. Then again, I don't know if the Clips will fully commit to Jordan as their center of the future, so who knows.

I think Kaman compliments Griffin much more than Jordan. Jordan does the same thing Blake does on offense...but he is a defensive guy though.
