Well it is a big issue in society today. This doesn't just go for Kobe of course, but even if it was just something in the heat of the battle, I still lose respect for Kobe; it's just demeaning in my opinion. I'm sure he doesn't mean it like that but this is why some slang is so stupid nowadays, and it just shows how the world is these days in my opinion.

True. You're right about the n word being a race; but you could group gays in the race category too because they are a type of people. Being gay shouldn't go against anyones religious beliefs, even if you're Cristian; you have to accept everyone for what they are.

You should know what I mean. Black people are a type of people. Gay people are a type of people. Straight people are a type of people. How could anyone hate gays just because they like the same sex? It doesn't make sense to me at all.

They aren't going to support it; but if they are true to their religion, they wont bash it, or call anyone a gay slur at all.

And I come from a black family my self, I know what went down in the past. This is not what I'm trying to argue though; I'm just trying to argue that gay slurs are just stupid to use in this day in age after all the world has been through. We aren't even close to a peaceful world.

The only reason any of this is still a problem is because people make it a problem. Faggot has like 20 other meanings other than gay person and a lot of those even came BEFORE that usage. So, what's the big deal?

The n word is an entirely different topic but has a similar result. There is the original term (the one that ends in -er) that was used as a pejorative term to refer to black people. Thankfully, that stupid word has been pretty much done away with. But it spawned an entirely new word (<Censored>) that, somehow, is less offensive but, as I understand it, is only really okay to use if you are black.

Here's the solution: if you have a problem and stop using the word, that's great. But if you want to keep using it, don't bitch when people start saying <Censored>. Either have a problem with the word <Censored>, in any context, or don't have a problem at all.
