And you're too ignorant to face the facts that I posted that there still a bunch more people that go to basketball games than hockey games
"in America". And by saying that, you're being just as ignorant as you say they are.

You talk about Canadian teams skewing the NHL attendance numbers and, yet, you fail to realize how much basketball has the numbers skewed in their favor. Let's take a look, shall we?

Average Attendance
Bulls- 21,691
Blackhawks- 21,353

Mavericks- 20,059
Stars- 14,951

Knicks- 19,720
Rangers- 18,092

Lakers- 18,997
Kings- 18,057

Celtics- 18,624
Bruins- 17,496

From just last year, excluding Canadian teams, I took the top 5 teams in attendance from the NBA, that have a corresponding NHL team, and compared them for you.

Now, keep in mind there are other variables that contribute to this as well. Such as the quality of the team (re: Mavericks/Stars). You can make a case for Knicks/Rangers in that category but, for some reason, the Knicks never seem to have an attendance problem. Regardless of how they do. That's dedication but I digress.

You also have to take into account that most arenas have more seats available for NBA games than NHL games. For example the American Airlines Arena, home to both the Mavericks and the Stars, has almost 3,000 more seats available for Mavericks games. The TD Garden has almost 2,000 more. It takes a lot more room to set up a hockey game but, still, the numbers aren't as completely in favor as like to think they are.

So again, instead of going around and throwing your "knowledge" and calling everyone else ignorant, how about you do a little research and back up your ludicrous statements before you go saying things like: "The MAJORITY of Americans don't like hockey"

Stats seem to say otherwise...

And BC just because the attendance numbers are lower doesn't make hockey suck. Okay it isn't as popular as some other sports America, but it doesn't mean nobody watches it.

Please start thinking before you speak, because you sound retarded.

What you should have done is calculated the average attendance of the American teams in both sports and compared like I did

I would much rather watch Hockey then watch all 82 basketball games. Only major interesting thing in the NBA is ASW and the Playoffs. Hockey is always entertaining.

See, this is the point you are missing. I don't really have a problem with you stating that the NHL isn't popular in the United States. That's probably true. But you can't use a word like majority without having the statistical proof to back that up. Especially not with attendance.

Taking an average of all the American teams doesn't get the point across ("majority") because, just like including Canadian teams, it skews the numbers because it's no secret that certain places don't have the same strong following as others.

There are even all sorts of variables to take into account, like I mentioned, when calculating attendance and it's value in judging the "popularity" of a sport.

So, to reiterate, you don't like hockey? It's your choice. You want to say it isn't popular? Again, your choice and probably the right one. Want to tell me that attendance is your way of justifying that the majority of the US doesn't care about hockey? Not going to happen.

So, again, you already know I'm right, yet you argue anyway?

You reading? I'm arguing the exact words you used and the concept you used to "prove" it.
