It's not a bad trade when it's Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups.

Before this season began nobody knew who the hell Felton & Mozgov were. So you're basically giving up Gallo and Chandler, both of which would start behind Melo. You're swapping Felton for Billups whose still a solid player, an excellent leader, and if he stays with us through the year maybe he can influence D'Antoni to focus a LITTLE bit more on Defense.

You're swapping Gallo and Chandler for Melo, and then 4ppg Mozgov and Anthony Randolph who'll never make his way out of D'antoni's doghouse for Minny's 1st rounder to get the deal done and a few fillers for Salary Cap reasons. It's not that bad. It's bad because Denver had 0 leverage all along, but it's really not that bad of a trade.

lol now I'm reading all over the place, that its a rumor, that if this deal does through by tomorrow night, Denver's already got a deal possibly set up to send Gallo and/or Mozgov to the Nets.

You beat me to it.

That's likely a ploy to drive Dolan to back out of the deal.

It makes the Knicks "damned if they do and damned if they don't".

I'd be down for adding Chandler/Gallo while sending OutLOL back to Portland.

If Dolan backs out of it then he's an idiot.... well he's already an idiot, but it proves he might be officially mentally challenged.

Yeah, you dont want Moz and Gallo going to the Nets so you back out of Melo so they can get Melo.... real smart.

We should have our answer soon as far as Dolan goes...

Meanwhile, here's some entertaining dialogue:

Masai Ujiri: “So Billy, should we pretend that we want Gallo and Felton? Or, how about Chandler and Mozgov?”

Billy King: “Actually Masai, tell the Knicks that you want Landry Fields….we want him too”

Masai Ujiri: “Sure thing Billy, we will get right on it”.

Billy King: "Oh, and make sure you “leak” it to our friend over at ESPN, Mr. Broussard".

Masai Ujiri: “Sure thing….I’m sending him a text message right now”

Its time for the Knicks to step back and say enough is enough. I really like the team we have assembled this year and its a start in the right direction, now isn't the time to break it all up once we have had some moderate success. I go to the Nuggets and tell them that this is the package Im willing to trade and if they dont like it, then we are no longer interested in trading for Carmelo Anthony. He wants to be a Knick and he doesnt want to be a Net, so let the Nuggets decide whats best for the organization. This is what I send:

Felton
Chandler
Randolph
Curry (1st rounder from Minny)

With Felton we can try to replace by either signing Dwill or Cp3, Chandler gets basically swapped for Melo, Curry is the big expiring the Wolves want, and Randolph is that young potential guy.

When you "send" that offer, you'll be watching Melo play in red and white.

Melo isn't going for cheap, to whoever gets him.

nah thats the absolute worst thing to do. Give them the ultimatum and they'll practically force Melo to sign in NJ.

No point in keeping Gallo because hes an RFA in 2 years and they plan on getting CP3 or Deron Williams.

Theyre not going to force Melo to sign in NJ, he can do w.e the fuck he wants. And if he doesnt want to play for the Nets, then he wont be playing for the Nets. He'll just be a free agent at the end of the year. I keep Gallo because just cause he is a RFA in 2 years doesnt mean we cant sign for a moderate contract now and let Cp3 or Deron now whats going on.

No, he can't do whatever the fuck he wants. He loses money in Free Agency and commissioner David Stern said yesterday that they will definitely discuss instituting a Franchise Tag in the new CBA. Then he's stuck. Less money, no freedom.

When you're at the 11th hour and you've got Derrick Favors and 4 -1st round draft picks on the table and havent been able to seal a deal with the Knicks, you do everything in ur power to convince him to sign that extension.

im lost at this point to be honest. melo is arguably a top two or the best scorer in the league, top 8 player, too. but both teams are giving up too much, really.

i just want this madness to end. lol

A trade to send Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks appears imminent, according to a source.

Only minor agreements between the Nuggets and Knicks remain for them to agree upon a trade.

Heard on the radio jut now that Billups left practice early today and would not speak to reporters. Sumtin is definitely going down. And now that the Nets are moving on to other trade ideas, I have to believe its gonna happen. And plus, as I've said time and time again, the Nuggets want to move players like Harrington and Nene before the break (or at least try to move 'em) and need time after a Melo deal to do so, and other teams in the league were waiting on this for the possibility of being included as a "3rd Team".
