I'd love Chauncey in Miami, he ain't the missing piece but he's hell of a lot better than Arroyo/Chalmers

Anyhow, I really hope he goes to Jersey, and you guys talking bout 4 1sts, 3 of those picks are like the Lakers 1st this year...

Francesa just said on WFAN that Billups is telling people he will push his way off of "either NY team" and would consider joining the Heat for "minimum $$" if they considered him to be the "missing piece".
billups on the heat would be sick.

Knicks have been low balling the Nuggets thinking they have Melo in the bag in FA.. I dunno if they forgot that a new CBA is coming in and the contract he can get now is much better then the one he would be able to get in FA.

Melo now realizing this as well, wants to get that 64 mill or whatever for 3 years.

saw it off ESPN

DEN gets
Harris, Favors, Murphy, Uzoh, 4 1sts

NJ gets Anthony, Billups, S.Williams, Ely, Balkamn

DEN would then flip a 1st and Murphy to an unknown team

Melo would need to sign a 3 year, 65 mil extention to have the trade go down

someone said it a few days ago.. mighta been Chris Paul but I can't remember exactly.

Either way, he basically said in a nutshell that - people underestimate the players' desire to win and take less money. We saw it with the trio of Wade, LeBron, Bosh. We'll end up seeing it with Chauncey in then ext 3 weeks -- wouldn't surprise me the least that Melo would be willing to put a few million dollars aside if he believed he had a better chance to win.

As for Proky, like I said, whether he'll be in LA today, tomorrow, or September fucking 18th, he has a cell phone. Make a call and set up a meeting date & time. I think it'd piss Melo off even more if Proky arrived in LA at 9am tomorrow morning or w/e and Melo THEN got the call about setting up a meeting later that day. Like seriously, give the dude a heads up.

So the excuse that "oh, he's not in the country" is bullshit at this point. One paper and then ESPN all say there's a meeting scheduled, and then Melo says there's no meeting. Obviously somebody fucked up. Maybe there was a meeting and they called the wrong dude. Boy, that woulda been awkward.

Why would Melo talk about a meeting he has with another teams owner publicly? He would deny it either way so think what you please.. I'd be willing to bet he's going to talk to Prokorov if there is a deal in place.

im not denying whether or not hes going to talk to the guy. Just trying to make a point that the "He's out of the country" excuse is not a very good excuse.

And why would he deny the meeting? Why? What's the point? It's perfectly fine to publicy acknowledge a meeting with a team that has been approved by your team as part of a trade.

And yeah cheato, I will think what I please. If I didnt think what I pleased I wouldn't waste my time talking on this site about things and expressing my opinion.

He would deny it because even through all of this he's been professional, not really talking about the trade rumors or anything.. Why would he all the sudden confirm something? Even if it's perfectly fine, it would not go with what he has been saying in the media about trades (basically him saying nothing).

James Dolan met with Carmelo Anthony late Thursday in Los Angeles, The Daily News has learned, in what could be the first step in Anthony being traded to the Knicks.

Although the Nets and Nuggets have agreed on players that would be included in a proposed blockbuster trade, the Knicks and Nuggets are scheduled to hold a conference call on Friday afternoon, a high ranking Knicks official tells The News.

The four main players on the conference call will be Dolan, the Chairman of Madison Square Garden, as well as Knicks president Donnie Walsh. Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke and Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri will also be on the call.

The call indicates that the Knicks are definitely alive in their bid to acquire Anthony and that if both sides can agree on which players to trade a deal can be made.

The hold up is the Knicks reluctance to include Danilo Gallinari in the trade. The Nuggets want three starters, including Raymond Felton, a No. 1 pick and Eddy Curry's expiring contract.

The Knicks would get Anthony, Chauncey Billups plus other players to make the deal work under the salary cap guidelines, including Anthony Carter.

Anthony said Friday that he isn't aware of a meeting with Prokhorov. In all likelihood, Anthony is hoping that the Knicks and Nuggets can agree on a deal before he meets with Nets officials, including Mikhail Prokhorov, the team owner, as well as minority owner Jay-Z.

WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END!!!!

I think im gonna just go into isolation for 4 days, just afraid I'll come out of isolation on like Tuesday and find out that Melo was traded to like, the Dallas Mavericks.

I'll believe this when I see it, but this madness has gone on far too long. Just when it sounds like things are close, they go right back to nothing. It's just ridiculous and it better happen soon.
