If any other team needing a goalie that was in the playoff race claimed Nabby, I wouldn't have bitched. But come on Baggs, it was the Islanders. One of, if not the worst team in the league right now with no shot at the playoffs... Instead of grabbing Nabokov why didn't they just get Emery, or someone else? They even knew he didn't want to play there.

How would signing Emery help them back at the time they claimed Nabokov? Emery wasn't ready to comeback from his hip injury which almost ended his career. He still really isn't close to being ready to play in the NHL and will be in the AHl for probably at least a month to get into game shape.

Yeah, but there are plenty of other goalies out there that they could have signed and could have talked to before signing them. Instead of signing Nabokov who clearly didn't want to play for them and had no contact with them before they claimed him. We could keep going back and forth on this and it will never end haha.

The Islanders shouldn't have picked up Nabokov because he had no contract with them before they claimed him? If the Red Wings picked up Emery, they wouldn't have a contract with him either so how does that make any sense?...
