When the Lions drafted Stafford #1 overall and gave him like 72 mill.. he is their franchise QB.. nuff said.
I'm not arguing that he isn't a Franchise QB. Unlike most people, when I see Stafford I see a bit of Manning in him. He generally reads defense well beyond what he should for his age but he's not going to be as good as Manning but with the right personnel and half an offensive line in front of him he could easily make himself among the elite QBs.

I never got the argument of Sanchez over Stafford. Sanchez's success has been because he went to a good team. Sanchez is basically a worse version of Brett Favre. He's going to always be careless with the football and throw it up to the other team a lot. I don't ever see him being mentioned with the Elite QBs and damn sure never wondered why there was a split 50/50 argument over who the best QB in the draft was. Unfortunately the Lions lack of an offensive line could easily lead to the show a different record for their careers but there is really no basis of calling the guy injury prone with that OLine or even that he sucks. The kid is slap full of talent.

I'm not even like actually talking about Stafford in general. I'm talking about thats why hes their franchise QB, not because they are building around him. They don't have no Oline and already had Megatron.. so you couldn't say they are actually building around him.. and hes still the franchise QB.

If you don't build around the QB, that doesn't mean he isnt the franchise QB.
