Michael Jordan was interested in making an offer to acquire Carmelo Anthony until the forward informed the Bobcats owner through a representative that he had no interest in playing for Charlotte or signing an extension, according to sources.

The Bobcats figured they had little chance at signing Anthony to an extension, but they explored the possibility anyway given the forward's relationship with Jordan as one of his product line's top endorsers.

Anthony will earn about $6 million this season through the Jordan brand.

Charlotte forward Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw have drawn significant trade interest, according to sources.

Wouldn't really be on a contending team in Charlotte anyway. If the Knicks can pull something off, he's most likely going to New York.

I'm tired of hearing about Melo, I hope he goes somewhere, seems like it's been going on forever.

if he wants to sign with only 3 or 4 teams, then he's actually doing a good thing by simply telling certain teams "i dont want to play in your city for the next 5 seasons". Hes basically telling teams that dont have a chance to stop trying.

I really hope Melo goes somewhere and quick, and I hope it ain't the Knicks. For fucking 3 years I've heard nothing but LeBron/Melo to the Knicks and after seeing LeBron go elsewhere, I'd love to see Melo do the same just so I can laugh at the people who thought they were going there no matter what.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. Denver needs to grow a pair and trade him to the Nets, unless another team can top their offer.

GM wants to make the trade, ownership isn't giving the ok yet, from what i've heard on twitter and all that crap.

Plus they're trying to make it a multi-team deal. I mean, like 3 or even 4 teams, to bring in a couple experienced vets around Melo with the Nets -- thats basically what they think would make the deal and the extension possible. Without the other pieces around him, it seems unlikely he would resign. But like I said, thats basically what I've heard. No idea how much truth there is to that.

Ridiculous is an understatement, lol. I hope something gets done soon, it's annoying.

Just ignore those comments if you don't like them. That's what's wrong with this forum, people don't know how to hold back. Anyways, I grew tired of the Melo talks as well. It kind of sucks when you hear a lot of news about him going somewhere then it all goes to dust. So many rumors and nothing is happening.

He is going to the Knicks, its a done deal! lol, nah I dont know. But I do like our chances a lot based on the fact that the Nuggets havent been able to trade him to this point.

Best case scenario:

They take Curry + A-Dolph/Whatever pick we may get for him and someone like Azuibuike for him.

I just hope he's still a Nugget after the season. That way we dont have to give up anything.

The Nuggets aren't doing a very good job of convincing Carmelo Anthony that the future is bright in Denver.

They suffered back-to-back embarrassing losses to the Clippers and Kings.

Anthony continued to sit on the bench long after Denver's loss to Sacramento on Thursday, long after his teammates had retreated to the locker room.

"My mind is just..." Anthony told Yahoo! Sports after the game.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports writes that Anthony hasn't waived in his desire to be traded and that the Nets have grown confident about their chances to land the forward.

"It is all on Denver. They will trade him or lose him," one Eastern Conference executive said. "There is no gray area."

The Nets don't appear to have much competition because of the assets they can provide.

"Denver seems focused on the Nets," one Western Conference executive said.

Blown out by the Kings last night.

The pressure is mounting...

Now that the Knicks will lock up Chandler, I doubt that Melo is going there...

trade whatever you want, the nets WITH melo still arent a good enough team to win on a constant basis
