I dont see how the Nets or Bulls are viable options. They won't trade a bulk-load of players if they're not 100% sure he will resign with that team, and if he only wants to be with the Knicks he's going to accept that deal only with the Knicks. If not, he'll walk to Free Agency and the Knicks will just offer him a max contract.

If he wants to be a Knick, he isn't going to sign an extension after being traded to a different team.

The cards are all in the Knicks' hands -- I just hope they take advantage of it.

I don't mind them waiting it out and just signing him in the offseason, but if they think they can compete and be a playoff team, then just get him now.

Just trade Gallo for Melo.. They play the same position and Gallo is just a spot up shooter. Then throw in Randolph since he doesn't play and is pretty overrated as a player right now, that should get it done.

Leading rumor is that its Melo for the NYK 1st (they'd trade randolph for it to HOU), Gallo, Curry, and either Chandler or Fields

If you give up one tho, IMO it should be Fields

plus, they gotta give up one. NJ still has this deal: Favors, Murphy, 2 1sts

I don't think they need to do it. Anthony would just finish the season in Denver, then sign with New York. I really don't think he'll go to new jersey.

I've found lots of jersey swaps with him in a New Jersey uni, but no New York ones.

only reason the Knicks should make the trade is if they feel they can be legitimate contenders and get a 5th or 6th playoff seed this year... and then adding Carmelo while being able to keep Fields would definitely turn some heads their way.

If they trade for him, I think it'll be Gallo, Curry, Chandler, 1st round from another team, and to acquire that 1st they'll trade Randolph.

but NJ won't pull the trigger if they aren't 100% certain Melo will agree to the extension. And if he only wants to go to the Knicks and holds that ground, then it won't happen.

Thats way too much for Melo at this point. It would be more closely to Curry, Randolph, and a 1st rounder for Melo. You get the huge expiring, a guy with some potential and a 1st rounder. Im not trading anything more than that based on the events that have transpired.

rios, this is a business first and foremost. if he wants to leave then he can speak his mind. i dont agree with the way some players go about that but still..
I know it's a business but how do you think Denver fans would feel knowing that Melo is speaking his mind like this?

I could see them adding in Gallo. That leaves the Knicks with Chandler and Fields still. It depends on who the Knicks thing is worth more to their team.

To be honest, he probably doesnt care, people forget these players/coahes owe the fans nothing. If anything, the organizations owe the fans for paying to watch the game spending money in their stadiums.

If a player wants to play somewhere else then he should have the right to make that decision.

Now making this all public is something else, unprofessional, but I keep reading its someone from Melo's camp thats leaking all of this.

But I say wait it out, I wouldnt give them anythign other then Curry + Randolph for him at this point, if the Nuggets can find a team other then us to move him to then so be it, but no need to gut our team for him, right now, DubC, Gallo, and Fields are all too important for us right now.
