T-Mac isn't in any position to be demanding things or declining a bench position, he doesn't have any offers on the table.

Wow, didn't see that happening. Not sure how he would fit into their system, but hey give him a shot.

I doubt it. There's a reason nobody has signed him.

Doesn't this guy wanna win? What's the point of signing with Detroit if you're him? I understand that nobody really wants him, but if he changed up his attitude, maybe things would be different and a contender would think about giving him a chance to prove himself (off the bench of course).

I'm guessing no one else wants him.
OR
He still has talent and wants a one year trial to showcase what he has left, to get a bigger payday next year.

I'm thinking we have a deal in place to get rid of either Prince or Hamilton.
I don't T-Mac would even consider Detroit if he would come here as deep bench player.
My theory is that we will move Rip/Hamilton for a big. Then start T-Mac at the 2/3.

But that is a MAJOR pipe-dream. But at the same time, him coming here doesn't make much sense if what I just said doesn't happen. Maybe that's why we are "discussing" over the weekend.
Pretty much what I was thinking. Plus, Kelser and a few other guys said the front office is trying to trade for a big before training camp.

Really is the ONLY way it makes sense.
But knowing Dumars, that isn't the case at all lol.

The Pistons have been linked to free-agent swingman Tracy McGrady and ESPN.com's Marc Stein points out that they have been shopping two of their current wing players.

Detroit has been making both Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton available via trade.

"Pistons have been shopping Rip and Tayshaun for ages, so logjam at SG and SF might not continue to be logjam if deal ever materializes," Stein wrote on his Twitter page.

So I doubt we do sign him if we can't move Rip or Tay.
Which is unfortunate cause I really was excited to have T-Mac as a Piston.

But then again it might still happen, cause I remember trade rumors the past couple of years that had Dumars trying to get T-Mac. So maybe he is interested in him regardless.

The Detroit Pistons are very close to signing Tracy McGrady.

According to ESPN, there were already reports that the two sides had agreed on a contract Saturday morning, but that they couldn't be confirmed yet. It wouldn't be surprising if there was already a deal in place that just hadn't been signed yet. In those rumors, it was speculated that the Pistons offered McGrady a one-year contract at the veteran's minimum. That contract would pay McGrady $1.35 million for the 2010-11 season.

The obvious answer for Dumars being "undecided" on offering him a deal is because they are trying to see if they can get rid of Rip/Tay before they make an offer. I say screw it and sign him, then take it from there in regards to getting rid of the two. Training camp isn't for what, a good month or so?

I'm surprised but I don't care for T-Mac. Just another old guy on the Pistons.

Yeah thats what I meant. I should have been clearer, they should rebuild instead of signing old guys.

This whole selling of the team has messed up a lot of <Censored> for us. Although, Dumars is still to blame for most of it.
