CP3 has named Orlando his top choice over New York.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5405528

Really who's at the top of the list doesn't mean **** in my opinion. At the end of the day NO makes the decision and will go with the best offer available as long as it's from 1 of the 4 teams he named.

if orlando pursues cp3 then i think they make the best offer anyways. but nawlins wants to get rid of 'meka with cp3 if they do indeed make a deal, so that may be a deal breaker for most teams. BUT i still think orlando has the best chances at getting him should they decide to make a deal. either way i think chris stays put for a while longer if not until the deadline.

lol Cp3's a top player in the game when he's healthy, but this is getting ridiculous. All these top players demanding trades and have "preferences" trying to control where they're going. Disgusting how they're disrespecting the game of basketball today.

<Censored> Cp3's preferences, as a GM just ignore his <Censored> and get whatever's the best deal for him regardless of what team it's from because it's all about what's best for your team, stop catering to these players. When Kobe was wanting to be traded I didn't even care where it was to, I just wanted the best deal for the Lakers. That's what these GM's should do, who cares where these guys want to go? If they don't want to player on your team anymore, who cares what they did? They're just straight disrespecting you now.

Send Cp3 to Indiana for Granger something, see how he likes being stuck there.

As long as he doesn't come here, then it doesn't matter.

I've been reading everywhere than not only are the Magic the favorites, but they have the best "package" to offer.

I haven't heard something so ridiculous in my life.

Clearly, if New Orleans trades Chris Paul, they will be in a rebuilding state. Emeka Okafor must go with him. So with that said, what can Orlando offer them?

I've heard Jameer Nelson, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, and still they are near 10 mill short. So that means they must include either Rashard Lewis, JJ Redick, Or VC. Assuming it's VC - and then the trade becomes VC, Nelson, Pietrus/Gortat... How is that a better deal than what the Knicks are rumored to be offering (Curry's expiring, Felton, Chandler, Randolph, Turiaf, picks)?

Whether the Magic offer Vince Carter's team-option contract or not, the Hornets will be taking back an additional 12-15 mill a year for 2-3 years (depending on if it's Pietrus or Gortat - and if it's Gortat, than an additional 4th year at 8 mill). With Collison in the wings, why would they be looking to bring in Nelson for 3 years/22 mill? And what value do Pietrus/Gortat have, except for being salary albatrosses? Meanwhile, the Knicks can offer them an expiring contract, Felton who is only a 2 year deal, Chandler who is a young versatile swing man who is only a few months older than rookie Wes Johnson, Turiaf's 4 mill expiring, Anthony Randolph who would have been a top 3 pick this season, and picks? The only team that can offer a better package would be Portland, and I don't see NO trading a top PG to a conference rival like that.

Why wouldn't NO deal CP to Portland if the deal was right? If NO trades Paul, you know that they are going to blow up the team so it won't matter to them in terms of putting a "conference rival" in contention. As for Orlando, VC is a 15 million dollar expiring after this season. Nelson could bring along Collison for a year until he is truly ready to play major minutes every night. Pietrus is also a versatile swing man who is probably the equivalent to Chandler in terms of skill. Gortat is likely a filler in the deal. If I recall correctly, the Knicks have hardly any picks in the near future to deal. And Anthony Randolph would had trouble cracking the top 10 in this year's draft.

LeBron James continues to put his fingerprints on the NBA's most-hyped offseason in history.

Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote on his Twitter page Saturday that James suggested that Hornets point guard Chris Paul request a trade.

However, Windhorst added that James is urging Paul to stay in the Western Conference to make for a better rivalry. There have been conflicting reports as to whether Paul is being represented by LeBron's business and marketing firm.

The Magic might be on Chris Paul's wish list, but they don't sound very confident of landing him in the near future.

Orlando isn't convinced that New Orleans will be forced into trading Paul and they aren't keen on taking on the contract of center Emeka Okafor.

"Much ado about nothing," is how Magic coach Stan Van Gundy Saturday described the reports of his team being linked to Paul.

"We are only involved in this story because someone said he wants to be traded and someone said he wants to come to Orlando," Van Gundy told FanHouse Sunday. "It's a New Orleans and Chris Paul story."

Magic general manager Otis Smith dismissed the reports as "rumors."

Chris Paul has yet to formally request that the Hornets trade him, but will do so during a scheduled meeting on Monday, according to a source.

The meeting will include new general manager Dell Demps and new coach Monty Williams.

New Orleans president Hugh Weber has maintained throughout the ordeal that the team has no plans to trade Paul. However, Paul's agent, Leon Rose, continues to gauge interest from teams regarding his client. Despite rumors to the contrary, Paul's camp claims that no leading destinations have been established.

From what I've heard the Hornets aren't trading CP unless they get a deal that they just can't pass up, and there hasn't been anything close to that yet.

That report from the TP isn't entirely true either. The Hornets will try to sell Chris on their plans for the future, and if that doesn't work then he will request a trade. I've heard some say they believe he will be sold on the plans, and some say that he won't be.

Atleast one thing is for sure, the rumors will be flying crazy tomorrow.

What? So is Paul asking to be traded within the West to start a rivalry with the Hornets or something?

CP just wants to win

Magic and Knicks are who he wants the most, but he's willing to go anywhere where he can win

Baggs posted a snip about L.James wanting him to stay in the West so they have have a "Magic/Bird" type rivalry, but it sounds like James is worried about having another super team in the East

I'd like CP3 to come to the East. Would make the Eastern Conference a lot stronger. I'm not too fond of players who request trades just to win faster, although I understand it.

Hornets said they will not trade Paul regardless of how he feels.
