Well, you're wrong - Carmelo is a FA this upcoming year. He has a player option.
No, he has a player option next summer.I'm pretty sure that he's a FA in 2012, not 2011 like you suggested.
My bad. NO better get to dealing him then before they lose him for nothing. No, he has a player option next summer.
The Knicks top the list of teams Hornets point guard Chris Paul would like to be traded to, according to sources.
The Magic are second on the list, ahead of the Mavericks and Trail Blazers.
In the ideal scenario, Paul wants to team with Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire in New York.
The Knicks signed Stoudemire to a $100 million deal earlier this month. Anthony is under contract with the Nuggets through the 2010-11 season and reports have indicated that he is expected to sign an extension.
"Those guys want to beat the three guys in Miami," a source close to the situation said.
The Hornets have scheduled to face-to-face meeting with Paul on Monday, when he will meet with new general manager Dell Demps for the first time.
The deal most likely won't include Oden. It would have Miller and Pryzbilla for sure since they're both nice expiring contracts as well as Batum or LA. The deal that got us close to getting him before the draft was Miller, Pryzbilla, Batum, Bayless and the 22nd pick for CP3 and Okafor. If that got us close I'd think we'd build off of that.Oden and Fernandez for CP3 and Okafor based deal with fillers and firsts from Portland. Then they get Fernandez, Oden and firsts as well as Okafor's contract off the books.
The Knicks are willing to trade anyone aside from newly-signed forward Amar'e Stoudemire for Hornets guard Chris Paul, according to a league source.
Paul is scheduled to meet with New Orleans general manager Dell Demps, head coach Monty Williams and president Hugh Weber on Monday.
"Amar'e won't be traded, but everyone else is available," the executive said of New York.
Three weeks ago Weber said the Hornets wouldn't trade Paul, but the point guard was inspired by Miami's signing of LeBron James and Chris Bosh to play alongside Dwyane Wade.
If the Hornets are going to trade All-Star point guard Chris Paul, they reportedly want teams to take on the contract of Emeka Okafor.
Okafor's contract has four years and $52 million left on it.
The second overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Okafor has career averages of 13.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

your stupidity really gets me sometimes.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=300403017
He sucks. Get over yourself. I hope the Knicks do get him.
That was an example of how he played regularly after his surgery.Kudos to you finding a box score of when he had a bad game!
