Sorry Shel, Kovy f'd you. I loved how just when we were hearing LA was getting close...BANG...New Jersey closes the deal.

Kovy is better off on the East Coast and the Kings are better off w/o investing a fat chunk of change.

I don't know why Kovy did this, his style of play isn't as successful with New Jersey's style of play. But with Lemaire gone, who knows, New Jersey might finally escape that boring defensive style of hockey.

Lemaire is gone and Kovalchuk is now the centerpiece of the franchise. Every move made from here on out will be a move that best suits Kovalchuk's style of play.

Same. They should really do something about them, but there isn't much they can do. At most they could review and grant the team the ability to sign a player to one but thats about all I see.

You do know you were talking about how his cap hit won't be much at the end... But it will be. They can split up the money however they want in reality, but as far as the NHL cap goes - it's an average (so a bit over 5 a year, even if he's gonna be making let's say 8-10 in the beginning, and 3-5 at the end) the cap hit to the Devils will be 100/17... Every. Single. Year.

Unless that changes, which I'm sure it can over the next 17 years.
