There are rumors of three-way trade discussions among Golden State, Minnesota and New York, in which Al Jefferson would be sent to the Warriors, Lee to the Timberwolves, and Monta Ellis to the Knicks.

Lee visited Minnesota on Saturday but the team holds only $7 million of salary-cap space which means that Lee would be looking for a sign-and-trade to get him to the Wolves at a contract nearer to his market value.

unless we promise him a starting spot, something those guys dont get. plus we can offer 5.8 for this season and it can get up 8% for say 4 seasons and give him a player option. sounds like a solid offer/deal to me.

but i would rather us try to get him and still save a little of the mle to offer to another player(depending on trade...which wont happen:/ ). fack it, offer him the full mle plus an increase yearly with a player option. then hope ben comes back for one more season for the vets min.

Well they were over paid and everyone knows it. You never know, $5.8 million is a good sum of money for him.

That does sound good to me, though I want Felton just as bad.
So either Haywood or Felton for the full MLE is fine by me.

LeBron James will wait until after his three-day Nike camp in Akron this week before announcing his decision, sources say. The camp concludes on Wednesday night.

Him and Bosh and even Wade I would say probably already know where they are going and have known since the end of their seasons.

Joe Johnson has agreed to terms with the Hawks on a maximum-salary contract.

Johnson had reportedly been hesitant to accept Atlanta's offer and the Knicks were one team that unsuccessfully tried to change his mind.

Johnson's new contract will be six years in length.

When the free-agency period kicked in, Joe made a point of talking to the Hawks first. Their owners and new coach, Larry Drew, impressed Joe with their commitment to making the team championship-caliber. In turn, Joe felt equally committed to the Hawks, his teammates and the city of Atlanta.

With all his success, Joe remains as grounded as he was a decade ago at our first meeting in Little Rock. His priorities are his family, his friends and his game. Joe could have forced a sign-and-trade deal for five years with another team, but he decided that winning in Atlanta would be more meaningful. When the Hawks offered the maximum — six years — he happily reciprocated.

For his next act, Joe plans to actively recruit other top free agents to Atlanta, a place not unlike his hometown, where he feels comfortable and appreciated.

If JJ could get us an S&T for another big time player. He would then be my favorite player hands down lol.

With what is expected to be the final week of the LeBron James free-agency saga about to unfold, Chris Sheridan of ESPN offers some of the key strategic considerations that are in play.

Another free agent who could ultimately figure into all of this is the Knicks' own David Lee, who Sheridan reports is amenablego to going to Toronto in a sign-and-trade for Chris Bosh.

The Knicks have communicated to Amar'e Stoudemire that they are willing to offer him a maximum-salary contract of $100 million over 5 years without yet making him a firm offer.

The reason the Knicks are holding off is to wait for decisions from James, Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

At the heart of the matter is with whom James and Bosh prefer to play and in which city each prefers to play.

On Thursday, New York's management told James he can bring any other maximum-level player with him, or he could agree to play with David Lee re-signed by the Knicks at some number below the max-salary amount.

You can't tell the future and neither can I lol but in all honesty if he starts to suck then we'll just deal him. Similar to the Jermaine O'Neal situation with the Pacers.

its harder when the guy is 6'5 and shoots all the damn time. once he starts to slow down and hurts you guys on defense it will be difficult to trade him at the 27+ million he'll be making..

CHICAGO (AP)—Dwyane Wade(notes) hopes a decision on his future will come next week, and said Saturday his new contract will be about more than just where he plays basketball the next few years.

“I’ve got a decision to make, and I’ve got a weekend to think about it,” Wade told Chicago’s NBC-Channel 5 outside a downtown hotel. “Hopefully, at the beginning of next week sometime, I’ll make that decision.”

The Chicago native is one of the top prizes in a star-studded, free-agent market that includes LeBron James(notes) and Chris Bosh(notes).

He met twice with the Bulls this week, had sessions with the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets, and also was contacted by Miami. All have enough salary-cap space to land two top-tier free agents, with the Heat possibly in position to bring in two stars to go with Wade.

oh, i forgot the whole "im 6'7 in shoes". honestly, you are super biased toward them and jj. lol. im not saying hes going to tank and blow for the rest of the contract. im just saying when hes declining and that contract is getting to be close to 30mill no one will want him. thats not for another 4-6 years, so dont get so pissy about it.

You called the contract "Hell" lol. And I'm pretty sure he's not 6'5 W/o shoes unless Jordan just makes really tall shoes for him lol. How am I super biased tho? All I said was we'll see. I'm not mad or anything
