After speaking with someone in Johnson’s camp late Friday, it’s clear that he’s in the final stages of completing an agreement with the Hawks and not checking out other options. Any delay is simply posturing. The prospect of walking away from an extra $30 million (in the sixth year of the deal he can only get from the Hawks without a sign-and-trade agreement) is simply not a n option, according to the person in Johnson’s camp.

After agreeing to terms with free-agent guard Steve Blake, the Lakers are no longer courting forward Mike Miller.

"Source told FOXSports.com that the Lakers offer to Mike Miller is no longer on the table following the Steve Blake signing," Jeff Goodman wrote on his Twitter page.

This will go down as one of the worst deals in NBA history. Unless JJ starts tearing <Censored> up that is. Which I doubt.

That is a bit harsh. JJ is a great player, just was overpaid a bit.
Won't be one of the worst moves of all time.

Alright maybe its not one of the worst. But I mean $20 million a year for a guy like JJ is a lot.

Come on now this is Joe Johnson not JJ Reddick lol. I know the money is deserved but when you measure what he means to our team he's worth it.....At least to the ownership wanting to win sooner then later lol

and the Knicks are going to sign Amare to 5/100M

Only reason Im not absolutely furious about the Knicks doing that is because he has the opportunity to persuade other stars to come to him.

DLee is better. Amare has the better offensive game no doubt, but Lee puts up work, and is a better rebounder/defender, and is a lot less that 100M.
BUT, I dont think you could sell him to other stars the way you can sell Amare

Actually, I don't know if it will be near 30 million, but it's gonna be a lot.

Brendan Haywood's agent, Andy Miller, has confirmed that he has had contact with the Pistons, but said that no deal in imminent.

"We've had numerous conversations," Miller said. "We will continue to have dialogue. There are a lot of variables involved here."

Haywood is also being courted by Boston, Dallas and Miami.

Detroit can offer Haywood $5.8 million, the mid-level exception.
Sounds like pretty good news, I suppose.
