Johnny Damon has agreed to a one-year, $8 million deal with the Detroit Tigers, pending a physical, a league source told ESPN's Karl Ravech.

Damon is expected to take the physical on Sunday.

The 36-year-old Damon hit .286 with 24 homers for the New York Yankees last season. He likely would bat leadoff for the Tigers, filling the void left when Detroit dealt Curtis Granderson to the Yankees.
Ugh, I would of rather seen the 14 million - 2 year deal, but as long as we got him I'm fine. Maybe he will play well and resign next year.. But if not, it was worth a shot.

The Raul Chavez era may be at an end.

The Blue Jays signed free-agent catcher Jose Molina, formerly of the New York Yankees, to a one-year, $400,000 US non-guaranteed contract that climbs to $800,000 if he makes the opening day roster.

Molina will be competing with Chavez for the job of backing up John Buck.

Chavez started 51 games for the 75-win Jays in 2009, hitting .258 with two homers and 15 RBIs as the back-up to Rod Barajas.

Molina moves ahead of Chavez for his defensive abilities as manager Cito Gaston searches for a back up behind Buck. Molina hit .217 with one homer and 11 RBIs in 49 starts for the Yanks.

He's the middle of the three Molina brothers. His older brother Bengie, a former Blue Jay, is with the San Francisco Giants. Younger brother Yadier is an all-star with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mets sign catcher Rod Barajas to a one year deal.

An agreement on the terms of a one-year contract was reached Saturday, a member of the Mets' hierarchy confirmed late in the day. Offered a Minor League contract at first, Barajas agreed to a big league deal. The terms reported -- $1 million for 2010 -- were inaccurate, the source said. He also said a physical was necessary for the 34-year-old right-handed hitter who spent his past two seasons with the Blue Jays.

The Great Sandy Koufax was at Mets Spring Training today helping out some of our pitchers. Man it wouldve been awesome to have seen him today due to his reclusivity.

And while Crawford and Werth were both diplomatic and respectful, it's clear they may be worth -- and will seek -- more than their current clubs are willing to pay.

Said Crawford, of the cash-poor Tampa Bay Rays: "That's what you go there for, to free agency. You go there to get paid like the guys who play against you. Pretty much, it speaks for itself."
C'mon Carl!

Carl Crawford is GONE after this season, there is no question about it. If the Rays are smart they trade him for as much as they can get without letting the league know that they're desperate to trade him.

I can almost guarantee that Crawford will land in Yankee pinstripes. The Yankees didn't spend this year so they could go out and get Crawford next year. Him at the top of the Yankees line-up is amazing. Let Nick Johnson walk at the end of the year, have Swisher DH, let Gardner play LF, let Crawford play CF, and let Granderson play RF. That is easily the fastest OF in the major leagues. I couldn't even picture a single ball dropping out there.

Reyes hit a 2 run triple in our first inter-squad game today. Looks like everything looks good for the comeback player of the year.

No, he's on the right New York team. The one that will take old veterans and overpay them.

The Mets don't deserve to have talent like Reyes and Wright on their team aha. They belong in Yankee pinstripes.
