Man the Twins got screwed over for the playoffs. I just think that its unfair and they shouldve pushed the game back to Thursday.

I wonder how many more votes Joe Mauer is going to get for MVP just because the Twins made the playoffs.

I think that cements his MVP trophy. There were prolly some dudes out there about making the playoffs and now people can complain about that "flaw."

Time to grab a quote from an old thread.

<Censored> I cant find it . Anyways I said at the beginning of the year that my breakout players were going to be Ricky Nolasco, Andre Ethier, and Scott Baker. Not bad at all......

Can't get over it... I don't watch a ton of baseball and I've been getting into it more as of recently and another night like tonight just.... makes it that much better even though the team I was hoping would win didn't pull it out... You don't see games like tonight's happen that often though, so.... but still..

Teixeira vs Mauer

Games 156 138

AB 609 523

Runs 103 94

Hits 178 191

Total Bases 344 307

Doubles 43 30

Triples 3 1

Home runs 39 28

RBI's 122 96

Walks 81 76

Batting average .292 .365

OBO .383 .444

OPS .948 1.031

BB 81 76

4 errors .997 Fielding % for Tex

3 errors and 9 passed balls for Mauer.

Posada only had 8.

Give me a choice of these two players and I take Teixeira every day of the week. I don't think it's fair to award the MVP to a guy who didn't even play a full season. And a guy who was outperformed by the numbers in runs scored and rbi's rather dramatically. These are the numbers that win games, not batting average.

I don't see the Mauer slam dunk here. I see a guy who took his team to the best record in baseball and turned this infield into a bunch of guys brimming with confidence. I saw a clutch hitter and a leader. Mauer didn't do much of anything the last 10 games of the year. He got carried into the playoffs by the unsung heroes. And he'll be out golfing soon wondering what it's like to be a Yankee player and having a chance of going to the World Series every year.

TEX is the MVP. Mauer is a good player who had a nice incomplete year and will soon have his feet propped up on the wood stove watching the grounds crew shovel the snow in Yankee Stadium in November. Dreaming of being a Yankee.

But am I glad to not face Verlander, Jackson or Porcello on the playoffs.

why don't you ever post this in the threads, or at the time, we have the debates....I've made my points to counter yours already, so w/e you say in here doesn't mean anything unless you counter mine.

His team isn't going to the playoffs.
and I hate to beat a dead horse, but on behalf of Joe Mauer, and the Minnesota Twins, I'd like to say

SUCK IT GILL

It's not all about numbers. Joe Mauer pretty much carried this team without Morneau.

26 mph winds at CBP today. Those OF's are going to have some trouble tracking the ball. Should see some HR's that are just going to keep carrying.

lol told you the rockies are ass

how the hell did they make it?

i knew ubaldo would do that.
every game. he's great for a minute, has his little hiccup. today he ended up getting rocked

rox are lucky they see Hamels tomorrow though.
people have to realize that this is not last year's Hamels.
look at his ugly numbers

I think the Rox should go after Halladay in the offseason

that would be awesome
it makes sense IMO

they got a good team.
have loads of outfield talent. they can trade one of Carlos Gonzalez or Dexter Fowler. Then they can platoon Smith and Spilbourghs

Halladay is from Colorado, they get plenty of talent to continue being a good team.
They just need an ace.
Ubaldo has been getting overrated by everyone lately. He's not an ace, more like a strong #2 like a Javy Vasquez most seasons
