From what I've seen of Joe Flacco thus far he's going to have a great year. I'd personally probably have Flacco 2nd on the list behind Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan will only continue to get better with more playing time. I'm pretty sure Culpepper will be the Lions starting QB this year unless something drastic happens. I never was all that impressed with Stafford at Georgia but I didn't pay that much attention to him either so who knows what will happen. I would like to see him come into a star for Detroit but we'll see what happens. Detroit's offensive line isn't any worse then Cincinnati's. I hope nothing but great for Stafford and his career with Detroit.

Awesome point, which is why I said earlier Stafford can be a stud the NFL if he doesnt start much this season, gets time to watch and learn, adjust to the atmosphere and change in physical play/pressure of NFL Defenses, get to know his receivers and lineman, and then step into the role next year or the year after.

Hopefully the Lions make the wise choice and take his career and future seriously, and not throw him into something hes not ready for. The guys around him have to improve before he can be brought on the field.
Peyton Manning has always been a huge advocate of rookie quarterbacks starting right off the back. Says it's the only way to truly learn and that watching from the sidelines for an entire season doesn't compare to about 5 or 6 starts.

May just be me, but I think I'd take his word over this subject.

Oh and my top 5 would go like this:

1. Matt Ryan
2. Joe Flacco
3. Mark Sanchez
4. Matthew Stafford
5. Vince Young

..of course my list is a little bias since i'm a Jets fan and that Matt Ryan is my dude.

well Manning came into a good situation, a decent team that had good protection so he was able to learn and not be rushed all the time. Thats what killed Harrington when the Lions drafted him, they put him in right away and with no protection he got hammered, and never learned the game properly.

oh and about david carr, houston screwed him over. they tried to change his throwing motion. and the fact that he was always under pressure has effected him so even now he panics under pressure because he never developed properly due to being sacked like 300 times in in houston

Yeah, so it's good that Stafford isn't starting because the Lions O-Line is pretty baddd...
