Ive watched so many Giants games and aside from Tuck, Jacobs is my favorite player in the league. However to me hes not top 3, but my #4.

Until I see better or any signs that the league has figured AP out my list is:

Peterson
Turner
D-Williams
Jacobs
Tomlinson

I love Jones-Drew but he didnt even have a 1k yard last year, and yeah he split carries but so did Jacobs and Deangelo Williams, so I cant even put him in top 5. I think he is top 5 but I need to see it first. Rest of my list would probably go:

6. Steve Slaton
7. Derrick Ward
8. Brian Westbrook
9. Jones Drew
10. Thomas Jones or Willis McGahee - Tough to rate McGahee because of his injury late last year, which probably knocked off 250 yards of rushing that he could have had.

If Brian Westbrook could stay healthy for a whole year he would be top 5 in my book.

That's how my top 5 would be, maybe someone else instead of MJD though

I just want to point out that no one has mentioned Marion Barber and I will be the 1st to do so, lol. Barber is also top 5, but we just have to wait and see if the Cowboys finally use him properly.

Besides AP, no one has more explosiveness through the hole than Marion. Idk what is up with him, but I could see him being just as good as AP.

So many Giants fans have Jacobs in their Top 5.... so biased.

Ask any head coach in the league who the best back is and they would unanimously say Peterson. The guy is superior to any other back when it comes to any attribute.

DH34, Your insane to think that putting 8 men in the box means teams have "figured out" Peterson. There's nothing to figure out with a running back...its just guess where he is going and be then if and when he does.

The Vikings haven't been able to throw the ball since we drafted AP and he's still put up disgusting stats. Just imagine the height this guy reaches if Favre can manage to make the Vikings a threat through the air as well.

how are people not putting LT on their tops? almost everyone is just listing the backs that have been doing good lately. just because they were the best in 08, don't make them the best in the league. I still think LT is the best back in the league when hes healthy. half the reason why the chargers passing attack is so effective is bc everyone is worried about their runningbacks.

Agreed. There really isn't a argument that another back is better IMO.

He's not the best back in the league RIGHT NOW when he's healthy. He's getting older and you can tell. He's starting to wear down and decline.

When Reggie Bush first came into the league he was being prasied for his college glory but soon enough we found out that he cant just pass on his past skills to take over the NFL.

AP is being praised for his smash mouth type running but i can guarentee in a few years hes going to be a broken down man. Im not saying 3-5 years, but if he continues to run like he is he might be injured during that time. AP is a beast no doubt but as a power back.

Darren Sproles i like because he does what some backs dont do anymore and thats avoid tackles instead of going through them and for his size, hes an idol for smaller fans.

Darren Sproles is on the top of my list but still the winner goes to AP at the moment unless he gets injured which what ive seen from him, might not be long from now.
