But Inge makes a bare handed grab to throw out Young and the Tigers win. White Sux are losing yet again <3

Rodney always seems to do that imo. He never just closes out the inning 1-2-3, he always gives the other team hope before shutting the door haha.

Yeah, Alex Avila looked pretty good in the two games previous, is he like the backup now? I have no idea of status of the roster and whatnot...I read in the paper that he will be catching the young pitchers like Porcello and Galarraga, idk why though, or if I even read that right haha.

The fact of the matter is 2 months ago, the Red Sox had the Yankees in the same position so I'm not going to fret about anything. Call it blind optimism but that's what seperates Red Sox fans and Yankee fans. We're not going to call for our managers head during our worst slump of the year because he has to deal with injuries and poor performance.

Worst case scenario is we can win the Wild Card, it's all about making it to the playoffs not how you get there, and I'm sure we can do that.

I guess we are using him as backup.
Though if Laird continues to struggle I really hope we let him start because his offensive game can help us so much.

I hear the Tigers have some interest in Smoltz.
A Michigan native haha.

Would be cool to see him try to be our #5 starter, if he fails we got Galarraga to fall back on. Maybe even use Smoltz in the bullpen. If he did work out, would be a great piece for the playoffs.
Doubt we even sign him though haha.

I'm getting at the fact that most Sox fans there will consider themselves lucky to even make the playoffs. They are blaming everyone, mainly Theo and Francona.

I should have specified real fans..those are the idiots that call WEEI up every morning to complain yet have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Let them complain, regardless of what happens tonight, it's hard to imagine this team not competing...like I said, at the very least for the wild card.
