CC's no-no is gone after 5 2/3.
Remember when every non-Yankee fan at SI said that CC was going to "suck" as a Yankee? Or that Burnett would get hurt...?

Yes. I still have Rios15's quote in my control panel as a matter of fact.

CC has been mediocre to say the least so far this year for his standards. And I'm happy about that, he sold out.

What exactly are his standards...b/c according to most of SI, the guy isn't even as good as he is made out to be.

It doesn't really affect the outcome of the game but I'd like to know why Ramon Ramirez was thrown out with no warning

I can't take credit for this but I still thought it was pretty funny (it was after the Rays series)...

Yesterday,
Pitching troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
Oh, I bought in to trading Clay.

Suddenly,
Wakefield's half the man he used to be,
Penny's belly hanging over me,
Sox swept away, so suddenly.

Why he
Cannot throw I don't know, Dice wouldn't say.
Tito said,
Something's wrong, now we long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
This was such an easy game to play,
Now first place has slipped away,
Oh, I believed in Jason Bay.

Saito
Had to throw, Why? Don't know, what did Tito say?
I said,
Evan's going long, now we long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
Boston stayed out of the steroid fray,
Now Papi needs a place to hide away,
Ortiz gets grilled, at 4 today.

When Smoltz takes the mound, it's time to pray.

Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm.
-- With apologies to Sir Paul

RF wall FTMFW

Jeter with a two run shot to extend the lead and likely saving Mo for tomorrow if needed.

5-0 Yanks in the bottom of the 8th.

I think we've been down since we lost the lead in the East and have had players drop like flies

Losing Tim Wakefield & Dice-K isn't necessarily "players dropping like flies". Who else other than those 2 has missed a ton of action? And I mean players that really matter.

Ortiz has no power swing, now that I imagine he's all-natural...banking on Smoltz was a huge mistake...Penny is, was, will always be mediocre and not willing to part with Buchholz in order to gain a Roy Halladay or Adrian Gonzalez are all reasons why the Red Sox are sinking.

I'd like to know why the hell was Youkilis starting in left field. Especially in NYC when if he makes a stupid play out there he'll get ripped into by the Yankee fans, also why take the risk with him out there when your playing the Yankees who you are trying to hunt down. If Theo didn't bring in a <Censored> load of first basemen that problem would have never happened.

I didn't say it was just star players, I was just saying that now everyone seems to be taking days off or going on the DL. Jason Bay has missed some time and it shows.

And it's not like missing Wake or Dice-K is minor for us. Dice-K had a VERY good year last year and Wakefield was having a good one this year. Having those two would keep pressure off, and maybe keep us from continuously using, Smoltz and Buchholz and Penny.
