Cabrera & Inge with solo homers. If only there were men on base. It would`ve been a more respectable loss.

Tigers lose 11-2. 3 game losing streak. Twins were up on the Pirates 8-2 last I knew, and we were only up 3 games on them going into tonight.

HE DID IT

A 132 PITCH COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT
I'm sorry but that is just a prime example on why the Royals have been bad for so long now. Poor decisions like letting your pitcher throw 132 pitches.

I`m worried now. Jackson does good when Verlander does good. Hopefully he does good instead of the alternate. I mean comon, the Indians took 2 of 3 from these guys!!

Scott Downs left the game with an ankle injury. If he's goes on the DL, B.J Ryan might go back to the closing spot.

I'll be pretty pissed if we lose again tomorrow.

Verlander pitched so bad.

What were they gonna do, take him out when he was 3 outs away from a shutout?

When he was already up above 110 pitches, and you have a good lead, you should put it in the hands of the bullpen...

tbh pitchers in this generation are pussies though, pitchers used to go 130 all the time thats why they had 300 game winners, now pitchers are trained to only go 6-7 IP.

And really whats the difference between 10 or 15 more pitches?

10 to 15 is a lot really. Have you ever pitched? It's a lot more tiring then it looks.

okay but when he was going out there after 8 he was at 110 pitches, he usually goes 115-120 on average, he's known for his long outings his entire career, and he was at 122 pitches after 8.2 IP, the last guy took 10 pitches

But the game is already in hand, he is well over 100 pitches, and you can afford to sit him down, because the lead is safe.

in other news...

royals get their mlb leading 8th complete game by their pitchers, their 3rd shutout from a SP, and 6th shutout as a team with bullpen

Verlander pitched so bad.
Same here. I mean, I didn`t expect Verlander to pitch amazing against the Cards, but I expected something decent, and tonight wasn`t decent at all. From any of the pitchers. Verlander, Robertson, & Perry did terrible. Although, I expected something like that from Nate, not Ryan & Justin.

so take him out while he is having a career game?

Didn't Cliff Lee have a 120+ pitch game against the Royals earlier this year too? Meche was at 122 pitches, his season high tied, with 8.2 IP, you going to take him out when he's 1 out away?

SMH at people criticizing the royals and our pitching decisions after our guy just threw a complete game shutout <3
