I honestly have been adamant about this situation the entire year. I picked my MVP about half way through the season and I think he has done enough to keep that status as of now. Lebron James and Kobe Bryant have had wonderful years but I don't think anyone has done what Dwyane Wade has done this season.

Stats:
PPG: 30.2 PPG
Assists: 7.5 Assists Per Game
Rebounds: 5.0 Rebounds Per Game
Steals: 2.2 Steals Per Game
Blocks: 1.3 Blocks Per Game

For a player, 6 foot 3, to get over 100 blocks in a season is straight up ridiculous. That shows what he has this year that I don't believe any other player in the NBA has, a straight up will to get the job done. Dwyane Wade has gotten done some of his accomplishments, straight up because he has wanted more than anyone else. He has that killer instinct to decide when his team is going to win, and when he makes up his mind, thats all she wrote.

Lebron James and Kobe have had excellent seasons, but I don't think that anyone has willed their team to the playoffs, by straight determination and hard work. As shown in his commercials, the man falls down 7 times and gets up 8, and works harder than any player in the NBA. You MVP for the 2009 Season: Dwyane Wade.

If his team had a better record he would get it. But its between LBJ and Bean. Kobe had a better season in 05-06 and he still didnt get the mvp. Even though it was clear he deserved it. So no he wont win it.

If Wade gets it there is seriously something wrong with the NBA. Him winning would complete change the standards the NBA has shown when they have given out this award.

Last season LeBron had better stats then Wade does this year and his team had a better record and he still didn't win MVP.

I just do not see how CP is not in the running for most people.

Look at what he has done, with a injury riddled team I might add.

lol i'm always switching my opinion with this, but i agree here.

Bron has been way too brilliant, just as brilliant as Wade, and his team is no. 1 in the L.
How he isnt MVP is beyond me.

and CP3ForMVP, CP is getting overshadowed by Wade, LeBron and Kobe who have all been better.
well Kobe is eh, but he's on the best team in the West by miles. That has definitely a lot to do with him

Something wrong with the NBA? Lets break down the award:
Most Valuable Player

Definition of Valuable:
1. having considerable monetary worth; costing or bringing a high price: a valuable painting; a valuable crop.
2. having qualities worthy of respect, admiration, or esteem: a valuable friend.

Lebron may have been the better player this year, but who has been the player who has been physically and emotionally the most valuable player on his team? Wade leads his team through his hard work and sets an example to his team mates. Without Lebron the Cavs this season are still a decent team, without Dwyane Wade the Heat are NOTHING

Why should the MVP standards for the NBA all the sudden be changed? The award goes to the best player on one of the best teams, it has forever, and it wont change. Wade does not deserve the award if Kobe and LeBron got snubbed when they had equally as bad supporting casts, putting up the same if not better stats.

The standards haven't been changed, the player who wins MVP is supposed to be someone who is valuable to their teams success, that is what the award is, and if you want to say who is the most valuable to the success that their team goes through you can say that it is anyone other than Dwyane Wade.

If the standards haven't been changed how come Steve Nash won MVPs over Kobe and LeBron when they were clearly more valuable to there team at the time. It goes to the best player on one of the best teams.

Clearly more valuable?

Steve Nash was probably the most valuable player to ever play on a team, He was the only difference on his team from the previous year and made them a force by himself, he made everyone around him better, making him valuable. Kobe and Lebron at the time scored more points but how valuable you are isn't all about how many points you score, look at his assists

elcheato you don't get it, it's not just about the amount of assists but how his presence automatically changes everyone on the team. Because of Steve Nash's presence no one on that suns team would ever quit on a play because they knew because Steve Nash had the ball that a play was never dead, there was always a chance for something to happen, so they fought in a way they wouldn't normally fight

And TYO it's a regular season award lol, I'm not taking about postseason

Because we all know plays are dead when LeBron has the ball in his hands and everyone quit..

Just the way no one would ever dare quit when Steve Nash had the ball, Jason Kidd was the same way with the Nets, he made the entire team play better because they knew never to quit when that man had the ball in his hands, and he gave them a sense that they could beat anybody

That was a mis-statement, i don't believe Steve Nash is the most valuable player of all time, but he is definitely a valuable player, I agree about MJ, Magic, and Bird and I believe in his prime shaq was more valuable than Nash because of how he racked up fouls and physically wore down other teams
