Ok, not having read the past three pages of posts, here is my take. I dont think it was a flagrant. I think it was a hard unintentional foul. It looked like he was going for the ball, but didn't get there in time. Big woop wanna fight about it?
finally, a voice of reason. we needed someone who is unbiased

BTW, the fact you guys are trying to defend a hard foul that led to injuries points directly to biased.

We said he deserves to be suspended. You guys are the first ones to bring up the word dirty, and defending how it wasn't. Jarrod didn't mention the word dirty at all.

There is really no arguement about this. And it was started by you guys.

I don't think Bynum's suspension should be lengthy.. but still. Bynum's hands may have been out, but they were no where near level with the ball, so he had no intention for the block. He wasn't trying to make Wallace miss either. Usually you'd go for the charge or something but Bynum just went for the hit.
bigs rarely take charges. of course he meant to foul him, just not freakin hurt him.
it wasnt malicious but it was reckless. he should get a game, but he won't. and if the NBA won't suspend him, why is everyone still crying

Well, to continute my point, I think the fact he injured Wallace is coincidental. But then again, I dont think it was flagrant so there you go.

this whole thing was an accident, don't you understand?

you guys can't seriously believe that Bynum meant to foul him so hard that he would have to leave the game and end up with an injury?

Wow at laker fans.
You did say I needed to post here more ;) Today's a free day, gonna have to deal with my <Censored> today :D

I've already said a few times it's the fact he didn't play the ball at all.

Wallace just so happened to be injured. Shaq deserved a suspension, no doubt. That was a hard pointless foul. But he at least made an attempt for the ball.

Point is both Shaq and Bynum are gooney retards. Case closed :]
Fair enough. Yeah I see where that comes from, but we're all obviously just seeing things different. I see it as G-Wall going full speed and BYnum didn't recover in time, Bynum was gettin in the forum he usually does to block a shot but G-wall was already high up on the air by the time Bynum got there. Simply put, different POV's.

And don't think I only see this because Bynum's a Laker. I defend a lot of other unintentional fouls that happen in the league that people call dirty (unless it's really blatant), maybe just not on here because no one has said anything up until now just because an accident happened.

Who's "you guys". Don't mix me n' mexi together just because we're both Lakers fans. I never brought up how it was dirty. Mexi and I are on the same subject, but are saying two different things ;)

Ok, it's extreme, but just to make a point...if you're recklessly driving and happen to hit a person, who then dies, are you not charged with vehicular manslaughter?

Again, it's extreme, but what I am trying to say is that it doesn't matter whether he intended to hurt him or not. The fact is that he recklessly fouled (yeah, when there's really no intent other than to stop the play, it's reckless to me) the guy and said player got hurt. He deserves what he gets.

just my two cents

Note a one thing.. 1) I never said anything about Bynum being malicious lol.. I think you're getting my posts confuzzled with someone else's. Obviously it was needed for the Lakers to get the win, but Bynum had much better options. From what I'm seeing he wasn't just standing there and Wallace ran into him, he moved to where Wallace was going..

my final thoughts

Unfortunate situation and I really hope Wallace plays again soon. Bynum should be a little careful next time. He wasnt being malicious, he was just being reckless. He's still a young player and I know he learned his lesson. He was really apologetic last night. I know he didnt mean to hurt GWall. I hope this doesnt take away how brilliant Bynum is playing though

I personally think if Wallace wasn't injured, then he wouldn't have been suspended. The act itself wasn't bad enoguh for a suspension, the outcome is.

he won't get suspended though. If it wasnt a Flagrant II and there was no ejection, they can't suspend him. thats just messed up

I'm pretty sure that you can still get suspended if it wasn't a flagrant 2.

Bobcats' forward Gerald Wallace was hospitalized Wednesday night, following the teams' double-overtime victory over the Lakers.

A 4th quarter flagrant foul from Lakers' center Andrew Bynum sent Wallace crashing to floor, forcing him to leave the game. Doctors suspected a partially collapsed lung and fractured rib, reasons for Wallace's overnight stay at Centinela Hospital. Following a CT scan and other tests, Doctors acknowledged their diagnosis. Wallace has 30 to 40 percent of his left lung collapse as well as a non-displaced fracture of the fifth rib.

Wallace will remain in the hospital for 2 days, he scored 15 points prior to the flagrant foul. - AE
