Another thing I noticed, it was a concern at the beginning of the training camp and it is now. We need that backup PG. We might be spoiled to have such a master at setting up our team with Kidd, but there is such a huge difference it's what hurts us. JET is out of place at the 1 more and more it seems. Rarely does he his passing game with him. I love what Carlisle has done thus far, but I would like to see Green get more time then Stack. Green had a huge impact in the preseason off the bench, won us some games, 12 PPG in 13 MPG along with 50% FG, Stack is just going down hill. Also, don't force JET at the 1, bring in Barea, he's our best option. I'd love our rotation to be.

C- Dampier/Diop
PF- Dirk/Bass
SF- JH5/Green
SG- Wright/JET
PG- Kidd/Barea

That 2nd unit would bring tremendous energy to our team. JJB the fan favorite, Bass with his power dunks, JET we know what he brings, Green and his explosiveness, and Diop with his blocks.

Wright struggled early, BADLY, but he settled down and his some shots later in the game. But I like how Carlisle is not afraid to change the lineup around. Avery always kept the same lineups and hope the team would snap out, Carlsile is more hands on and more aggressive but isn't as snappy.

4th quarter was a typical mavs choke job similar to the ones under Avery. Settled for way too many jump shots in the 4th, and the offense just goes dead in the 4th and I don't get it. Might take some time to change that after 3.5 years of Avery where it happened in most of our losses.

But it's the first game and we played a team who many think of as an elite, and I have to give them there credit, Artest looks amazing. And they will be scary with Battier back. Mavs fans along with myself need to realize this isn't a top team in the West in what we have this year. But that doesn't mean we can't be a championship contender because we have the talent to do it, we're just not jelled together.

whoa hold on there
there's a team down in SoCal who i hear is pretty good. ;)
lol these are the two teams Mexi and you know it.

When healthy the Lakers and the Rockets are the two teams to beat in the west.
Unfortunately that's the major concern for both clubs, injuries. It hits both of them and has hindered both teams chances over the years.

This year looks really good though. It has started well for both teams. Hope it continues.

lol I'm thinking the same thing. Honestly though I don't think I'd be that sad if the Rockets knocked the Lakers out and repped the west in the finals. I've always liked TMac, and followed Houston back in their "Clutch city" days back in '94-'96. The Lakers squad still has a lot of years left to win a ring. For TMac the time is now!!!
