ESPN News -
It looks like LeBron James may just get the help he was looking for after all.

According to ESPN News, the Cavaliers have acquired Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak in a three-team trade.

The Bulls receive Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, and Cedric Simmons, while Seattle gets Chris Duhon, Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall.

The deal is currently under league review.
I think they are now the 3rd best team in the East now.

Ben Wallace will hopefully come off the bench... Unless they start him at PF?

I dont see why they wont start him, he is on the decline but still good enough to provide a low post defensive presence, he still one of the best at that in the league...

I say start him at PF and have Joe come off the bench.
They got way better I think. As much as I dislike them I want to watch them play.

Lost: Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Chris Duhon
Added: Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes

I expected Smith to go, Wallace sucked, the only real player I'm gonna miss is Duhon (since Kirk sucks). I like Hughes and Gooden though... It's gonna be interesting to see how this works...

Ask any Bulls fan... Wallace is terrible.

He can provide a low post defensive presence - if they wanted that, trade for the "retired" and "injured" Alonzo Mourning, who is a better defender now than Wallace has been since coming to Chicago.

They won't start him because Big Z is playing greatly this year... 13.6 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 1.7 BPG.

Joe Smith was our team's MVP. If I was Cleveland, I'd start him over Wallace (I wouldn't even think twice about it).

why would they trade for Mourning when it's unknown if he will ever comeback?

and as for Wallace all of a sudden becoming a TERRIBLE defender 1.6BPG and 1.4SPG would say otherwise, why not start him at PF? it makes sense to me, they would have two very good low post defenders would can both rebound.

He is old but you can still play D when your older, and he is still good at it.
Plus they can start him at PF.

Big Z
Big Ben
King James
Szerb
Duhon/Delonte

6th man
Joe Smith/Delonte/Duhon(who ever isn't starting)

Thats a nice lineup.

I can see the logic in Wallace coming off the bench and Joe Smith starting b/c Smith has played better then Wallace this year, but the point im tryna make is Wallace isnt COMPLETELY washed up, he can still be a solid role player for the Cavs.

Well I guess you know feel the way I do about Wallace... First you tell me he should start and now you say he can be a role player.

He'll be a role player... But if there's any team that can afford to start a player who can't score, it's LeBron's team.

I never said he WILL start, I said, why not? i wont hurt as much as you seem to think it will.

Whether he starts or not, the Cavs still arent good enough yet. They still dont have a PG or a second scoring option.

The actual deal is -

CHI: Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes, Cedric Simmons, Shannon Brown
CLE: Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West, Joe Smith, 2nd Round Pick (via CHI)
SEA: Ira Newble, Adrian Griffin, Donyell Marshall

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3257159

So I really think we did great in this deal... We didn't lose Duhon, but the leader, Adrian Griffin, will be missed. LOL

Seattle got raped AGAIN...first the Kurt Thomas deal, now this one.

Overall, i'd have to say Cleveland got the best of the deal.

Hughes should be a good aquisition for Chicago, now Gordon doesnt HAVE to start but Joe Smith is a upgrade over Gooden IMO. I like West going to Cleveland, it might work out...I just dont think he can effectively run the point.

No Duhon.
He would have helped the Cavs. Well they still got better, atleast thats what I think.
But they still arent that good. Although I'd put them over the Magic.

Bulls owned in this deal if you ask me... Especially if we didn't have to give up Duhon (I'm not sure whether he's in or out, I've seen both ways).

IDK how you can say that Seattle's been raped at this deadline...

They traded Kurt's expiring for 2 expirings... WTF do they need Kurt for?

They don't need West, and Wally has a huge contract... They traded for 3 smaller ones... It's OK.

Adrian Griffin also gives them great veteran leadership, defense and a guy that can call team meetings (even though he hasn't played any minutes all season)... >_>

I was talking about when the traded for Kurt Thomas, they gave up a 1st round pick.

They dont need West, but the still got the worse end of this trade. Despite the contracts they have made themselves worse, talent wise, thats why I say they got raped.

alltogether they only get 4 million back in CAP space....
