Yankees Add Branyan To Spring Roster

Russell Branyan will have the chance to make the Yankees as a reserve utility infielder after agreeing to a Minor League deal.

Branyan hit .197 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 127 at-bats last season for the Diamondbacks and Angels, playing first base, third base and designated hitter.

Dude has some serious power. Hit two of the longest homeruns in New Yankee Stadium history.

Hasn't been able to do much else but hit homers recently but, with that short porch favoring lefties, this could turn out really well for them. Cheap too.

I saw the highlights of his two long bombs at Yankee Stadium and damn, would be exciting to have him playing half the season there. It's low risk so why not.
