Joke or not, there's a reason for division forums so I'm getting tired of seeing people post big news stories in the general discussion thread.

that's why I renamed that thread the Gameday thread. Eventually it's going to get through people's heads.

Here's an idea, and since you're a mod you should be able to pull this off.

Somebody posts a big news story like a signing or a trade in the "Gameday" thread -- Make a topic in the division forum and merge the post into that thread.

It's fine if people post news in the Gameday thread, just don't get all uptight when the news gets it's own thread.

I agree. I just want to see more discussion in the division forums.

I go from the team with the most losses to the team with the most wins so obviously it’s hard to contain my excitement

Real happy about this deal, his defense is still elite and the bat should improve with the Yanks

Curious how Joe aligns the OF now and where he bats in the order. I'd assume he goes to right ad Swish moves to left. Jeter ain't moving out of the leadoff spot and Grandy has really thrived in the 2 hole

Maybe bat him last and use him in that "second leadoff" spot.

That would be ideal but I don't know if Girardi has the cogliones to hit someone like Ichiro 9th or if he'd even be OK with that

Had no idea how to spell it, took my best guess considering the way things are usually spelled in Italian lol

I know a lot of phrases and certain words, can't spell them though

SafeCo was more conducive to his slap hitting style because of the large gaps but he's always said he could hit bombs if he wanted to, prove it

Wish we weren't in the middle of a west coast trip, I'm dying to see him in the pinstripes.

Wow...

Couldn't really ever picture him going to another team.

He's been terrible this year though.

Before agreeing to acquire the outfielder, the Yankees provided a list of conditions to Ichiro Suzuki.

New York asked the former AL MVP to switch positions, hit at the bottom of the lineup and possibly sit against left-handed pitching.

"He was fully educated on all our requirements," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said. "One by one, every box got ticked off."

Ichiro had requested a trade from the last-place Mariners, the only big league team he had ever played for after coming to the United States from Japan as a 27-year-old in 2001.

The Yankees were not sure Ichiro would be willing to make all the adjustments they required.

I guess Ichiro just wants a shot at a championship, and it's not a surprise this late in his career. He deserves it.
