Woj: Cavs have agreed to trade Wiggins, Bennett, 1st to Wolves for Kevin Love

Kevin Love is about to get his wish. The Timberwolves and Cavaliers have agreed to a trade in principle that would send Love to Cleveland for a package headlined by rookie Andrew Wiggins, according to Brian Windhorst in a radio appearance with Chris Broussard and Ryan Ruocco. The deal can officially be completed on Aug. 23 when Wiggins will no longer to bound by a rule that says players cannot be traded for 30 days following the signing of a new contract.

Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall selection from the 2013 draft, is also reportedly involved in the deal, but he may not be sticking in Minnesota. Bennett could be re-routed to Philadelphia in a trade that would send Thaddeus Young to the Timberwolves.

"The deal is done, but not done," Windhorst said. "The teams have agreed, but they can't say they have agreed and they can't agree because we are in this weird moratorium period. Because you can't trade Andrew Wiggins until the 23rd of this month."

Sure he gets to be the guy in Minnesota, but nobody wants to be the guy in Minnesota which is why Kevin Love wants out in the first place.  And he's not close to ready to being the guy yet and he's better off learning how to behind LeBron and playing third fiddle to him and Kyrie in the beginning of his career.

I think for him to reach his full potential, he has to be the guy, regardless of where it is.

wiggy would be a much better player if he had three years behind lebron. he needs at least a year or two in a leash to learn the ropes. he's going to struggle but he's still going to be a really good pro.

kinda happy for bennett the most. going to get a fresh start and hopefully get free reign to develop on the court.

It wouldn't have been third fiddle for 3 years though. He would have been behind Kyrie and LeBron for their duration there imo. He is kind of the Chris Bosh of the equation. Will be a good player, but won't get the recognition he deserves because he is the third wheel. 
 
He will be just fine I think. Just really didn't fit in with the Cavs anymore imo.

philly could make out like bandits if bennett turns into anything. i don't think wiggins will need a huge market to tame his star but i don't think he'll want to stay in minny

Bennett and Noel were my two favorite players in the 2013 draft, Embiid was my favorite this year.
