I just got to thinking, and I'd like to know the boards thoughts. All 5 positions, which players would you take over Kyrie right now?

Ouch, my list would be WAY longer than that. Unless you're thinking of a guy for the future.

Right off the top of my head, with zero research I would probably take Parker, Rose, CP3, Westbrook, Curry, Harden, Kobe, Wade, LBJ, George, Melo, Durant, Love, Davis, Blake, Dwight, Lopez, Gasol....

my list was mainly a guy to build a team with before him.

im not even with the people saying he's a superstar. hes good, really good, but imo hes not a superstar yet. not overrated but very overhyped :kobe:

i wouldn't take paul george or wade, or russy over him though, but your list is probably close to mine otherwise.

Yeah I thought this would be about building your team around. Cause then I disagree with a select few on your list. Especially Wade.

People say defense is 50% of the game, and I disagree. Defense is more than just half the game, I'd say it's closer to 55-45, maybe even 60-40. I mean, the guy is a really good player and impacts the game because of his scoring, but I think the enjoyment he brings to the game is larger than the impact he has on it.

Flame on.

RIght now - for one game - plenty. But the kid is only 21. Totally different conversation if we're talking building a team around him.

I'd disagree with being a team around him, there are a lot of guys I would take before him to build a team around. But I do agree with the overhyped thing.

For a game tomorrow night, or a month from now, I would take all those guys over him. And you know I do not like Westbrook.

idk westbrook can and will shoot them out of so many games.

i love russy for the excitement, kyrie too, but russy is a cancer(not directed towards kyrie). the media just way overhyped kyrie. he was not ready for this spotlight, well not deserving.

i pretty much agree with what you said about defense and what not, but i love the handle kyrie has and the shooting.

im still not sold hes a playmaker in terms of passing though.

The thing is, and I know some of yall do not like advanced stats, but there really isn't an advanced stat out there that says Kyrie really helps his team win. He helped the team, but not substantially or nearly as much as the other top and even tier 2 and tier 3 PG's did. And it's all because his defense is bad and like you said, he's really not a play maker.

Agreed. I'm not sure his game will really ever help a team really win games.

Not to mention his injuries.

even though our point guard isn't one i still prefer a pass first point. unless they score with good efficiency.

It's kind of like the Melo syndrome, but to a bigger degree.
