I think they will make the playoffs next year, if not then for sure in 2009-10. Here's how I see it this year though.

SA, PHX, DAL, DEN are the top 4.
UTA, NO, LAL, and HOU are the next 4.
GS and POR are right outside of them. Portland would probably be a playoff team in the East, but I don't think they can maintain this good play and make the playoffs. The Rockets will bounce back...
