I remember when he was on the Dolphins because I played against him in Madden Franchise every year because the Steelers played the Dolphins opening night every year on Franchise.

I remember him being drafted by the Chargers, he was expected to be a #1 or 2 receiver and couldn't hack it. Went to Miami played behind Chris Chambers and had okay stats, now that he has Randy Moss drawing most of the coverage HE's the one making Moss? What? He's the ideal third/slot receiver. Nothing more.

Actually I've made a mistake, he wasn't drafted by the Chargers, he was signed as an undrafted free agent, but I still remember him from back then, but he was still expected to get some playing time because if I'm not mistaken Eric Parker and Reche Caldwell were our starting receiving duo (yea some of you will be like... who and who? exactly).

ok what happened in week 2 against the jets when welker was injured Moss was no where to be seen.

Also yes i remembered when he was in San Diego. They cut him miami picked him up and beat new England the same year lol best day ever

With out welker, Moss is nothing but a regular threat like OchoCinco but without the stupidness, ego the same. imo

Ok but part of that had to be Darrelle Revis and part of that had to be Brady still not being in his A game yet.

In Week 2, Brady was still rusty, going under constant pressure against the Jets defense, and Moss was being covered by probably the best corner in the game right now, Darrelle Revis.

But let's go over this again. Randy Moss and Chad OchoCinco are just average receivers while Welker's an elite threat...

I have a hard time processing this.

Randy Moss before Wes Welker:

YEAR TEAM G REC YDS AVG LNG TD
1998 MIN 16 69 1313 19.0 61 17
1999 MIN 16 80 1413 17.7 67 11
2000 MIN 16 77 1437 18.7 78 15
2001 MIN 16 82 1233 15.0 73 10
2002 MIN 16 106 1347 12.7 60 7
2003 MIN 16 111 1632 14.7 72 17
2004 MIN 13 49 767 15.7 82 13

Wes Welker before Randy Moss:

YEAR TEAM G REC YDS AVG LNG TD FD FUM LOST
2004 MIA 14 0 0 0.0 0 0 0 0 0
2005 MIA 16 29 434 15.0 47 0 20 0 0
2006 MIA 16 67 687 10.3 38 1 33 0 0

and just to put it in perspective, here's #85's career stats:

YEAR TEAM G REC YDS AVG LNG TD FD FUM LOST
2001 CIN 12 28 329 11.8 28 1 22 0 0
2002 CIN 16 69 1166 16.9 72 5 58 0 0
2003 CIN 16 90 1355 15.1 82 10 66 0 0
2004 CIN 16 95 1274 13.4 53 9 63 1 0
2005 CIN 16 97 1432 14.8 70 9 74 1 0
2006 CIN 16 87 1369 15.7 74 7 66 1 1
2007 CIN 16 93 1440 15.5 70 8 74 2 1
2008 CIN 13 53 540 10.2 26 4 36 0 0
2009 CIN 6 29 455 15.7 50 3 22 1 1

Don't look too much into Chad's TD receptions because remember he played next to TJ Housh all those years.

But anyways, Wes Welker who's now playing in a pass friendly spread offense in New England, who is feeding off Randy Moss's constant double coverages, is in the slot often facing just the other team's Nickel Back (Not teams best CB), is supposed to be THE man? He's good after the catch, he's a good runner, but in no way is he an elite threat.

Back in Moss's Minnesota days his best receiving mate was Nate Burleson, another guy who fed off of Randy's production. What happened when Burleson got paid by Seattle (back when Shaun Alexander was still a MVP candidate and the team was still a superbowl caliber team) and was expected to be one of their number 1 threats? He stunk the place up.

Welker should cherish the role has has now, it won't get any better for him.

I think Welker is an above average WR even without Randy Moss. I have paid attention to this guy recently and he has amazing agility and can make guys miss all the time. A good WR who deserves a little more credit, although Moss helps him out a bit.

I think you forgot one guy, Chris Carter. The few years that Randy played with him Carter was still one of the best playing. Later on this is true, but he wouldn't of had those great numbers early in his career without that guy.

Also I think that both of them feed off of each other. Randy and Wes cover two different places of the field which really stretches out the defense, and gets both of them great opportunity. I do believe that Welker gets more benefit out of this duo, but you can't act like Moss isn't getting anything out of this.

I remember Welker played with the Dolphins but I didn't know he was a Charger.
