With a pulled muscle in his shin, there was worry in Cleveland that Browns running back Trent Richardson would be kept out of action through mini-camp and offseason workouts.
Now, though, Richardson reportedly won't return to the field until August, meaning he'll miss a portion of Browns training camp as well, according to ESPN Cleveland.
“The source explained that the team is being ‘ultra-cautious' with Richardson's injury because they are worried it could develop into a stress fracture,” wrote ESPN Cleveland's Will Burge. “The source cited Kevin Ware, the basketball player from Louisville whose leg snapped on a seemingly routine play, as the worst-case scenario that this injury could develop into.”
"It ain't no biggie," Richardson said last week, regarding the thought he might have to miss OTAs. "It's nothing to worry about. I could be out there, but they want to be cautious about it to make sure I'm healthy and to be right for camp."
"If they let me go, I'm going to go," Richardson continued. "If they tell me to suit up tomorrow, I'm going to be out here working tomorrow. So I'm letting coach make the decision, and I'm happy with his decision. I know he's going to do the best thing for me, and I know he's going to do the best thing for the team."
