Have to go with Andrew Luck. The guy is just awesome. Going into this season, I would of said Locker hands down. That's completely altered now. One thing that really sold me on Luck, was that tackle. Shows that when a turnover happens, and you see him running at you, don't be surprised if he takes you down. I feel Locker and Luck are just head and shoulders above everyone else, but Luck is ahead of Locker.

Although, I do like what I've seen from Nick Foles.

Andrew Luck by FAR.

Mallett has the physical tools, but no accuracy. He missed open receivers all the time, is notorious for not leading his receivers well, and people say he won't transition well to the amount of work/studying needed week to week in the NFL. He will still be a good QB and that will get resolved you would hope, but anyone with problems like that can't be #1.

I respect Jake Locker a ton. He could've gone very early last year, but wanted to accomplish something... He hasn't but to me he gets a ton of respect. Regardless, you can't ignore that his stats haven't really matched up with what you would think from someone who would have been the top QB last year and you can't ignore that he didn't win... Even if he tried really hard.

Luck is a football player. Watch that hit he had in the Oregon game. Luck is amazingly accurate, a great leader, and has the physical tools he'd need. Luck will be the #1 player taken baring injury it isn't even a question.

Cam Newton won't be a good QB in the NFL.. Saying you just have to work on his passing skills, is more then just some little thing. You need to be a good passer going into the NFL, simple as that.

Andrew Luck is the best prospect. Most accurate, still has a good arm, very smart player as well and he can escape the pocket and make plays with his feet.
Dude if you can develop a player that plays like a bigger Mike Vick. I think you'll be set. Cam is like FB sized, I don't see why he couldn't be good in the league..

I'm in love with this class. This is how I see the draft falling.

Andrew Luck - Buffallo Bills - First Pick
Ryan Mallet - Jacksonville - Early First Round
Jake Locker - Seatle - Late First Round
Cameron Newton - San Francisco - Anywhere in 1 or 2
Christian Ponder - Cincinnati - Second Round

I think Andrew Luck is the best QB in college and I imagine most NFL teams will also when the year rolls around. He should and most likely will be the #1 pick. My guess that's Buffalo. Kind of nice. He's a little Jim Kelly mold. I can see that.

Ryan Mallet reminds me a lot of fellow Arkansas QB Matt Jones, Ex-First pick Jamarcus Russell and every other big tools Quarterback with an arm but not much else. That's just my opinion. He's not as accurate as anyone on this list including Newton. He makes things happen with his pure size and arm strength. Not sure if that will work in the NFL but I bet Jacksonville takes him.

Jake Lockers was suppose to be #1 but from what I have seen of him... He makes a lot of mistakes. He just doesn't seem #1 worthy. I think Seattle will be glad to take him as the hometown team in a 15-25 pick range. He can sit and learn behind Matt. He reminds me a little too much of Cade McNown's abilities but he's sooo much smarter.

I don't know what will happen with Newton. Either he'll be a top pick or a 2nd or 3rd rounder haha. It's all about what NFL teams feed themselves. In the end... San Fran needs a QB and he makes since for Singletary. I doubt Mike is a guy who cares if he's white or black or fast or slow. He can be the X factor that team needs. They don't need another Alex Smith. Also can see Locker going to San Fran.

Lastly... Christian Ponder is a better QB than most people here believe. He's going to be a 1st or 2nd round talent in the draft most likely. Maybe he'll head to Tennessee in the 2nd round or Cincinnati to push Palmer. He can be groomed into a Schaub-like QB.

It's an awesome class.

Ponder isn't someone to shake your head at. Not as good as Luck or Locker, but he's right behind them.
No, I'm shaking my head at having the first round, fifth overall pick, meaning the rest of this season isn't expected to go real well. I still have a little hope they can finish out the year on a positive note. I know who Ponder is, I know he's not a bad QB. I'm fully aware of who Ponder is and what he's capable of.

Because he's an average thrower at best, and most linebackers in the NFL are just as fast as him and most are as big weight wise.

Mallett needs alot of work.

I agree that Luck probably will go #1 overall, I just like Locker better.

Haha. 5 Quarterbacks won't go as the top 5 picks. That was how I see them going in the draft in order lol. Ponder is a 2nd round pick for you.

It's Andrew Luck, and this point it isn't even close.

He's a leader, he has smarts, and he is very accurate. Every single game I watch of him, he is getting better, and that is truly scary.

I used to be on Locker big time, but him and Mallett, need many questions answered to their game before I label them with the likes of Luck. I love Luck for a team who has some playmakers on offense, and is looking to contend in a few years.

The whole "he just wins argument" was used for Tebow, not Locker. Tebow actually did win, Locker not as much.

I think that Luck or Mallett are the best options.

Locker's team sucks Blake. The guy is a winner. But seriosly, watch the Stanford Wash game right now and tell me Locker has a chance. No time, his WR's aren't open, and he has no running game. It's brutal.

I agree. He has less of a supporting cast around him but that can't be used as an excuse. Great Quarterbacks find ways to win games. You can find some great quarterbacks from terrible teams who managed to make things happen for their team. I think he's got talent but maybe not #1 overall talent. Likely.. there is a reason he was recruited to Washington and not somewhere else.

Luck is more polished, looks more accurate and looks more like a leader. He has a coach who's readied him for the NFL. It sucks for Locker but it "looks" like Luck's the guy.

Never know though.

LOL. Blake, come on... Florida's Team >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Washington.

Beating USC at home, in games like he did last year in that fashion, was very impressive. Those are the type of games he displays his leadership skills in. I love Locker, I think he is a great raw prospect that needs some time, but could be solid. Andrew Luck is just the man right now in the CFB world.

But the argument of he just wins should not be used, because he simply does not win.. Even if his team is bad, why would you say he just wins? He doesn't..

Looks like Locker will start to drop down the list. Depending on how many games he misses with his rib injury. Not that he wont be effective, but the injury factor does come in play when teams look at you. The plus side would be that some teams may start to pass on him, and a team will get him as a nice steal.
