A newish concept I am going to bring to SI, is the Top 20 series, where based off of your votes, I will be counting down the Top 20 in different areas, this week, the Top 20 Point Guards in the NBA. The men that hold together a team, establish a teams flow and identity. From the flashy skills of Steve Nash or Chris Paul, to a fundamentally driven Steve Blake or Chauncey Billups. The criteria for this week, is how good of a point guard they are. Allen Iverson and Dwyane Wade are good examples of PG/SGs, so technically, you could include them in this countdown, as well as in a future SG countdown.

Your task, is to send in a list of your top 10 point guards in the NBA as of today. Base it off of their entire career, as if every single point guard in the NBA was healthy and playing their best. Your #1 will receive 10 points, #2 will receive 9 points and so on. Wiht all the results culminating in a Top 20 Countdown (if there aren't enough for a top 20, then I will obviously have a Top 10 and a "Best of the Rest").

So get voting, I will only accept votes via PM. Make sure to go through every team and make sure you aren't missing anyone). Te aim of this is to spark some more conversation and debate amongst members. Have at it.

Once you have PM'd me your list, don't post it in this thread, maybe just post stuff like, "I had 5 Eastern Conference Players and 5 Western Conference Players" or "3 of my players were All-Stars" or whatever. Just so there is a bit of discussion before the final countdown is revealed.

We have a lot of members coming through the NBA Board, and I would like it if you encouraged each other to vote in these countdowns, cos if it ends up with only 4 or 5 people voting, it will be a waste of time.

One of the players on there many would probably disagree with but check the stats, other then about two or three guys are as efficient.

So far, only 5 players have featured on every list, with three different players receiving #1 votes.

9 lists counted so far. One pretty clear leader, with the next three only separated by 9 points.

Interesting, I wonder who the player is with only one vote.

16 lists counted. 21 players.

5 point difference between #2 and #3.

4 point difference between #5 and #6

#10, #11 and #12 are only 3 points apart.
