here's my opinion....why do you care what Sheed thinks? Of course he is gonna say that his team is the team to beat. If you were in that situation you'd probably do the same. Some teams/players prefer to take the more modest approach and wait till the season starts to say anything but hey, when the hell has Sheed ever been that way?
...no one with a comment?

I just want to say one more thing about this then I'm done. As history shows, if you don't have the greatest NBA player of all time (Michael Jordan), you need an all-star big man in order to win a championship.

2007 - Tim Duncan
2006 - Shaquille O'Neal
2005 - Tim Duncan
2004 - Ben Wallace
2003 - Tim Duncan
2002 - Shaquille O'Neal
2001 - Shaquille O'Neal
2000 - Shaquille O'Neal
1999 - David Robinson/Tim Duncan
1998 - (Michael Jordan)
1997 - (Michael Jordan)
1996 - (Michael Jordan)
1995 - Hakeem Olajuwon
1994 - Hakeem Olajuwon
1993 - (Michael Jordan)
1992 - (Michael Jordan)
1991 - (Michael Jordan)

You can call it coincidence if you want, but it's no joke. Who is the dominant center for the Pistons? McDyess? Wallace? Unless a MJ-esque player is on your team, you need a dominant big man. That's why the Spurs are perennial favorites, that's why the Rockets and Bulls expectations are high this year, etc. The Pistons can't win a championship with their mediocre front court...

And you think the Cavs are going to be better then the pistons though?

Cavs have LeBron James, a MJ-esque player which means(to me) a player who is going to go out there do it all and score at least 35-40+ points a game. I really don't see someone on the Pistons doing that.

Yeah, I'm not saying the Cavs will win it all, but the Cavs have a MJ-esque player...

LBJ is missing two players that did well for the Cavs last post season. All the Cavs have is LBJ and he can't lead the Cavs to the top of the division. The division will go like this

1. Bulls
2. Pistons
3. Cavs

What does that have to do with how the division will plan out?

It doesn't matter what players the Cavs are missing; as long as they have LeBron they're better than Detroit. Didn't he prove that in Game 5?

Well they lose two good defensive players. Varejao would've been able to help guard KG,Dwight Howard and other great front court players. Pavlovic could guard the better back court players as well. Both players were coming on last season. So I don't see how losing two players improves your team.

No, but according to you Pistons fans you're the class of the NBA, and I guess if you can beat "the team to beat" then you can beat anybody. Am I saying that the Cavs will go 82-0? Heck no. I'm saying LeBron is good enough to beat almost any team in the league by himself.

Us Pistons fans? There is like 3 pistons fans on the board. I haven't said anything like that. I said the Bulls would win the division and the pistons 2nd. Don't judge me based on PugZee and Rip.

See CC thats the sh1t that pisses me off.
I have NEVER said the Pistons are an ELITE team the CLASS or the BEST TEAM in the NBA.
I just have said that we are better than what you CC give us credit for.

I think we are better as an ALL AROUND TEAM the CAVS right now.
LeBron is GREAT FANTASTIC PLAYER who even knows he may be the BEST to EVER PLAY...
The Cavs as long as they build around LeBron will just get better though.

BUT IN MY OPINON the Pistons are BETTER RIGHT NOW!

LAST Postseason. Doesn't the tune of Rashard Lewis mean anything? (Rip don't comment).

Although, LeBron is probably better than all the teams in the East not named Boston, sooo...

The thing is Rashard is not LeBron, don't you get that? He is not going to score 30 a night against us ever, he will struggle to get 20 a night.

And another thing is no one on this board has ever said that the Pistons are the best team in the league, not even me. The only thing I've ever said was they are an elite team. And when someone knocks us out before the ECF then we are. Period, I don't see any way around that statement..
